Today, I witnessed a homeless man fall off of his bike and land face first onto the pavement. Bleeding and shivering in the 40 degree weather, I gave him the coat off of my back. He got up like nothing happened and sprinted away with it. Oh yeah, my wallet was in the inside pocket. FML

Today, I was riding my bike to work in a hurry and hit a pothole. I flew off and hit the ground hard. I was badly shaken, but an old lady came over, checked me out and helped me to my feet. After she left the scene, I realized she'd pickpocketed my wallet while "helping" me. FML

Today, I was riding on my bike when I saw a homeless guy holding a sign saying, "Need money, stranded from Oklahoma." I decided to be nice, and hopped off my bike to give him $2. He took the money, and then jacked my bike. FML

Today, I was walking home, when I saw a homeless man trying to tear the wallet out of another guy's hand. I can't stand bums, so I smacked him across the jaw. That's when the other one kneed me in the balls and made off with my wallet as well. FML

Today, I saw a homeless man on the corner, I thought I would be generous and give him some cash. I rolled down my window and waved my hand for him to come over. As he was walking over, he was struck by another car. FML

Today, I was skating in the city when I slipped and fractured my arm. As I was lying in pain, a guy walked up to me, frisked my pocket and took my wallet. He then said, "It's nothing personal." FML

Today, as I was walking home, I felt my feet slip out from under me and I face-planted in the slushy, dirty, melting snow. I rolled over, completely soaked, and attempted to get up, thinking no one saw me. A mail-man then passed me without offering to help, and said, "I've seen worse." FML

Today, I gave a homeless man my last bit of spare change so he could get on the bus. Just as I was about to get on too, I realized I'd lost my bus card. I had to get off the bus and watch as the man waved at me through the window. FML

Today, I was walking down the street when a homeless man asked me for some spare change. I told him I didn't have any. I then tripped. Not only spilling the soda I was drinking all over myself, but also spilling the spare change I had from buying it. FML

Raydot when I was younger and naive I was too an Idealist! Then I matured! There are qualified Professionals for the injured if they really are injured... If you could read and comprehend you would have noticed that I said call preferably a non emergency police number, OR 911 AS YOU WALK AWAY!!! If you get TOO involved chances are there will be that many more fools to "help" or prosecute...

Cristaderzi, in regards to your first post: How was giving a cold, hurt, homeless man your jacket being "too involved"? Why do you think calling a non emergency number as you drive away to casually explain that you saw a man faceplant on cement and ask if they could, I don't know, casually swing by the area to check him out constitutes as the "right thing" to do? And don't give me this bullshit about how maturity desensitizes you. It shouldn't. Something must have happened along the way that makes you think it's "OK" to not stop your damn car and help a fellow human being up off the ground, no matter WHAT condition they're in. After living on SF for a decade trust me these bums harm themselves or for real fight BEFORE and after their hustles!!! I due to Transphobia and me being bipolar was homeless off and on! Though I personally NEVER used dope nor drank! Shiiite I dont even smoke cigs nor 420!!! Ive seen a LOT of crap!!' TRUST NO ONE! Because really all you have is YOU!!! Everyone else is fake. I hate this world and attempted suicide many times cause of my family and people!! What can I say Im a failure. F em all LOL

Sorry if I sound stupid, but... ...how do you know he was homeless? And honestly, your wallet should have been good enough a prize for you to climb onto that hobo's bike, adrenaline pumping like God-knows-what, chase after him, and take your coat back, slapping him hard in the face, and calling the police so he can become another tax-stealing unproductive member of the benefits system. Unless you're in the US, where he'll become a poor innocent hobo who falls off his bike so he can steal wallets from innocent and non-bloodthirsty law-abiding citizens. For shame.
