Today, I was babysitting. Being kind, I went to grab their mail, while their 4 year old ate lunch. He locked me out, wrecked the house, and let me in right when he saw their car two hours later. I didn't get paid. I paid them. FML

Today, I babysat the neighbors’ evil kids. They dropped them over at my house and I played with them for five hours. After taking the brats back home and putting them to bed, their mother asked me what time I came back to the house. She only paid me for the 20 minutes I was in their house. FML

Today, I babysat the brattiest and most foul-mouthed 8-year-old I've ever met. After I survived three hours of it, his parents finally came home. He claimed I'd invited a boy over and that we did "stuff" on the couch all evening. They believed him. I didn't get paid, to say the least. FML

Today, I babysat the most annoying and obnoxious kids for almost eight hours, when the parents assured me that they would only be gone about three or so hours. After constant calling and worrying, they finally showed up at 11:30, completely drunk. The mother paid me with three dollars and a banana. FML

Today, I babysat the Antichrist of all kids. After the 5 long hours were over, his parents came home. Instead of paying me what they agreed, they offered to let me eat some leftovers of a takeout in the fridge. I'm so afraid of confrontation that I accepted. FML

Today, I volunteered to babysit my nephew. He somehow managed to lock himself in the bathroom and then flood it with the sink. I had to call his parents, and they're now on their way home from their romantic anniversary dinner. I'm not even getting paid for this. FML

Ha ha I once had to deal with a kid like this, but he was 6. He locked me up too after throwing a toy out the window to make me go outside. He didn't laugh so much when I called 911, told them the situation and that the father may have an unsecured gun in the house, and then SWAT came over and smashed the door (apparently they misunderstood and thought there was an armed intruder holding the kid hostage or something...). That was an EPIC lesson that kid was taught. Masked and armed people breaking in his house freaked him out, and then his parents scolded him and gave him a set of harsh punishments. Anyway, OP you deserve it for agreeing to pay for their inability to educate their brat. Damn I know dogs who have better education than that kid! You did nothing wrong, except maybe for not calling the cops. You should threaten to alert social services if they don't give your money back and pay you for your time there. Plus an extra for the fact you spent the entire night outside. There is obvious parental negligence going on. Normal kids don't do this stuff, even if there's nobody around! Don't let them blame you so they don't have to pay for the damage themselves!
