Today, I thought I would make my first trip to the beach. While in the water, I was stung by a jellyfish. My friend had to pee on me. I went back into the water to wash the pee off and got stung by another jellyfish. FML

Did you make your friend pee on you again? Did you stare at his/her genitals while they peed? Did a lot of pee get on an area that wasn't stung? It's this sort of information that leaves me unable to choose between FML/YDI.

Haha. I got stung by a jellyfish a few years ago.. no piss necessary. A few painkillers, one ointment cream, and two hours laying down with my leg elevated sent the pain away. Sucks to be you.

#37--no, they meant WIVES, like they said. Try reading as a hobby.

#11 isn't "going into the water in the first place" the whole point of going to a beach?

FYL for getting stung once. YDI for going back in and getting stung twice.

"you guys are dumb. Pee actually does help a jellyfish wound. look it up." Urine and ammonia can actually aggravated the nematocysts, not neutralize them. Perhaps you should stop believing everything you read on the Internet and stick with reliable sources instead.

Taken from Friends?... but funnier.

First off, I just want to say FYL for getting stung and YDI for not knowing what to do. For jellyfish stings you never want to soak your wound in water or salt water (it just irritates the wound and releases more toxins). It's not been proven that pee works and can actually make this a whole lot worse. Your best bet for a box jellyfish sting is vinegar or alcohol. Now if it's the portuguese man of war do NOT put alcohol or vinegar or any acid on the sting. Instead use meat tenderizer. Sounds weird, I know, but it's proven to work. So there you go, some helpful tips on what to do if you get stung. And remember, don't be an idiot and go back into the same water you just got stung in; it's likely you'll get stung again.

jellyfish suck but you could have gotten stung by a portugese man 'o war, you might not live out of that experience unless you spot it in time. Or probably more likely return with extremely painful injuries. Wildlife tends to hate humans, i laugh at the people who get caught in the middle

@23 http://abcnews.go.com/Health/story?id=2283933 you asshat.

agree with #4 on this one, i got stung by a jellyfish on the foot one summer at camp, and was told to pee on it, which i refused to do. i instead put it in the water to cool off the burning sensation i had. when i got back to camp one of the nurses looked at it and said she would've done the same. i later googled it and found that peeing on your foot is pretty much pointless, which is even more so when you can't wash it off... sucks though that you got stung and didn't know any better :( that shit does hurt though >:(
