I thank God we don't have rats, snakes, poisonous spiders or any other rodents roaming around where I live. Just snow and ice half the year.

Be glad it was a rat trap and not a bear trap; if it had been, you might have lost a hand. Another valuable lesson learned the hard way, huh?
