Today, I found out my dad bought an iPhone. I've spent the better part of the last six months teaching him how to check his email and online newspapers. FML

I think OP means it's going to take alot longer than six months to teach their dad how to use an iPhone.

I understand, OP spent 6 months teaching him to use his email and look at online newspapers (which is a pretty basic thing to do) so will now have to spend ages teaching him how to use his iPhone.

I feel ya, recently my mum need to use the computer. She ask me to teach her to use it... it would'nt be so bad is she didnt called me every 5-10 mins. And she yell at me for doing things too fast e.g alt tab or Ctrl + a/c/v/z/y and constantly asking me how to do it (after I teacher her a million times). good thing come out of having technology blind parent is... she give me her Ipod cuz she dont know how to use it >
