Today, I finished the first month of a diet and exercise program designed to help me lose weight. To keep myself motivated, I have avoided the scale the entire time. I weighed myself today. I've gained 6 pounds. FML

I did :o) And I found it pretty interesting as well. ... But I also tend to write longish posts - so maybe it's just me... ...Or maybe it's just that I was not brought up in a "I-want-it-immediately" culture?

You may have gained muscle that's why instead of setting a weight you should set a certain amount of inches for whichever part of your body you want to slim down, I hope your not too bumed about it op :)

That's what you get for taking the easy way out and trying to get skinnier with a bogus diet... Go to the gym and lose fat the old fashion way.

OP said "diet AND EXERCISE" perhaps you should go to elementary school and learn how to read "the old-fashioned way"

Just do enough exercise to be healthy. You'll figure out a good balance between weight and the rest, the important thing is you're moving. It's so dumb that people exercise to lose weight rather than just to be healthy. And to those who say don't eat carbs, I'm diabetic (T1). What do I do? #S

When training u eat more, well not sure what ur diet is, but lets say, i eat lots of meat and gym / train 1-2 hours / day and works fine. A advice is To never eat pork, since its hard To get out of ur body:)

You should go on the scale regularly to track your gains/losses
