Today, after having saved up my money for months to buy my college-bound son the car of his dreams, I got a phone call telling me it had been totalled during a drag-race. I only gave him the keys two days ago. FML

Today, I found out the real reason my dad bought a new car and generously gave me his old one. He knew the engine was about to fail and didn't want it to be his problem when it finally did. It blew out while I was driving at high speed on the motorway. Just my luck. FML

Today, I took my girlfriend to a local drag racing spot to get her more involved with my friends. Her ex showed up and wanted to race me. I won the race, but blew my engine. I had to use his dad's towing service to get my car home. FML

Today, my dad brought home a used hunk of junk from someone he knew. It was covered in rust and dents, and the engine was making weird noises. Thinking he was being generous, he said to me, "When you get your license, you'll be driving it!" It then died with a loud bang and black smoke from under the hood. FML

And that's what you get for giving the keys to a moron who probably watched fast and the furious a billion times.....next time...99 civic hatchback will do..cheap easy to hook up and won't hurt as bad when numb nuts destroys it...oh btw hope your kid didn't kill anyone or hurt himself badly during the accident...that's really sucks...hope he gets his license suspended though :D have a nice life dude...

That's one of the reasons I don't think parents should buy cars for their kids. They don't know how to appreciate it. I bet if he bought that car with his money none of that would have happened because he had to work for it. And FYL for making a nice gesture and your son not being grateful.
