Shame! Shame! Shame!

Today, I went to my son's school soccer game. Unfortunately, I couldn't get excited about it because my idiot son kept diving the moment anyone so much as breathed on him. It eventually earned him a penalty shot that won him the game. I was so ashamed, I snuck out to avoid being seen with him. FML

Well, your son has a future in the professionals

If his little, it sounds pretty adorable; if he's older, he's a strategic asshole.

For those of you saying "YDI for being unsupportive", what's happening is that the boy is deliberately faking being hurt in order to penalize the other team, getting him the win. He's nothing but a cheater and his father has every right to be ashamed.

He should teach him better. Do you not see how this is failure on the father's part? The kid should be learning from him.

And how is the son supposed to learn anything by taking a lucky shot by doing exactly what he's NOT supposed to do? It's a pickle, either way.

even if he teaches him better, it doesnt matter if thats what is expected of him when he is on the field. believe it or not coaches will force their players to dive.

He should be teaching his son better not running away in shame

Wow your son gets the winning shot and all you feel is ashamed. Not everyone's great at sports. How about you find another activity you can share with your son instead of looking down on him.

Sounds like someone taught him to do that to get free shots. The Pros do it all the time. It's still a pretty lame thing to do, though. Might want to teach him to get through life a bit more ethically if it bothers you.

Now, your son MAY be a crap soccer player, but you sound like an asshole dad that cares more about being able to gloat about his accomplishments than about him himself. Maybe, just maybe, he might not even like soccer and yer pushing it on him. Either way, I would not call my son an idiot for not being good at something, especially not publically do that to him on a website

It's people like your son that ruin soccer by the way..

Maybe he shouldn't be playing sports.

Well, he won, didn't he? Don't blame the kid; blame the refs for being too stupid to spot a dive as opposed to a legitimate foul. The pros do the same thing if they think they can get away with it.
