I'm sure she's very grateful but irregardless you don't stay with somebody if you don't think it's going to work out in the end. Had she dumped him 3 days after the surgery I'm sure you could call her an ungrateful bitch because it's likely she knew she was going to dump him before he made the choice. A year later?. . .He did something incredibly selfless for his girlfriend at the time but it doesn't chain her to him for the rest of her life if it's going to make her miserable.
