it's genetic on your mothers side AND it skips generations. you comparing yourself to your dad does no good. look to your grandpa... he's probably balding, too. :( it sucks, but rogaine does work. try it.

Actually, it is your mother's father. Male Pattern Baldness is a sex-linked trait. This means that since the X chromosome is longer than the Y chromosome, there are more genes on it. Therefore, a boy only gets one allele for that trait, not two like the other traits. So, if your mom's dad is bald, sucks for you!

Rogain will help. Or just shave it all now and get used to it. Maybe look into wearing hats more often. But there's nothing wrong with that. Maybe you'll look like Jason Stathom, he's bald and a bad ass

I feel bad for you, but you can always learn to embrace that look. If it starts showing alot I say just shave it all off. No hair is much better than a comb-over! My family pretty much has no balding gene in it, even my grandfather, who was well into his 80s before he passed, had a full head of hair

I'm right there with you. Some things I've heard that may help: -A high forehead is a sign of intelligence. The brain activity just burns away hair. -If you're going bald, you have an excess of testosterone. You're so manly, your body can't handle it! -People who are going bald in the back are good thinkers. People going bald in the front are good lovers.
