Today, my doctor told me my asthma was being triggered by my dad's smoking. He wrote a note to my dad, asking him to refrain from smoking while around me. My dad took one look at the note, then threw it in the trash, saying the doctor "doesn't know what he's talking about." FML

Today, once again I tried to convince my dad to stop smoking. And once again, while I was speaking, he lit up a cigarette and smoked until my asthma flared up and I was wheezing so hard that I had to leave the room. FML
Today, my dad hit his mid-life crisis. When I came home and said hi, he told me to shut up, then went to the living room. He then lit up a cigarette and started muttering about having to put up with me, then went into a coughing fit, because he's never smoked before in his life. FML
Today, while driving me to the hospital because I was having an asthma attack, my mother lit a cigarette. FML
Today, I overheard my mom telling my aunt what an “attention-seeking drama queen” I’ve been lately. All I asked was that she not smoke around me. I’ve had asthma all my life and am currently recovering from Covid. She thinks it’s all a conspiracy, meanwhile I haven’t taken a deep breath in weeks. FML
Today, my parents have smoked for most of their lives and are both healthy as horses. Meanwhile, I smoked for two years, then went through hell quitting, and just had my first asthma attack and was lectured about "long term effects of tobacco, even after cessation." THIS IS BULLSHIT! FML
Today, due to the heat, I had a deadly asthma attack. Where was my inhaler? My dad pawned it for beer money. What did my dad do about my attack? Told me to quit being a Drama Queen. I had to go across the street and beg for a ride to the ER from my neighbor. FML
Today, my doctor told me that my lungs are as bad as a 60-year-old heavy smoker's. I'm 19 and I've never touched a cigarette in my life. FML
Today, my mom found my dad's hidden stash of cigarettes. He told her they were mine and now I have to spend two hours at therapy for my "smoking problem" every weekend. I've never smoked. FML
Today, my mother told me I'm going to get lung cancer. Because she smokes. FML
Today, my dad found out I recently tried weed. He called me a useless waste of air and grounded me for the rest of the year. Then he went outside and smoked his third cigarette of the morning. FML

Great. Another chance for anti tobacco nuts to thrash smokers because one smoker is a douche. From a smoker who doesn't smoke around non smokers, and goes outside his own house to smoke, bite me.

Smokers are always inflicting ther "personal choice" on others. How many times do people have to walk through a cloud to get in and out of resturants and pubs, have to sit next to someone stinking of it at work or get it blown in their face as they walk down the street. Even if you only smoke in your garden you could still be causing harm to someone or something, if you live in the middle of nowhere with no family and no animals or smoke in a hazmat suit then and only then do you have the right to bash people who dislike smoke.

It absolutely boggles my mind that a parent in today's society could smoke around their children. The information and warnings on the effects second and third hand have on people is everywhere. It's damn near impossible to plead ignorance or just brush it off as a load of crap. Parents who harm their children like this are selfish and don't deserve to be parents. Fyl op.
