Today, the girl I have been dating for the past couple months broke it off with me. She said she's tired of waiting around for me and being ignored in the mean time. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been so greedy as to finish my 2 degrees and work 2 jobs to pay for my school. How selfish of me. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Time sensitive
Today, my girlfriend left me at 11pm after leading me on for 5 months, all because she lost interest. I wasted so much time, money, and emotions on her, and never received them from her. FML
Know your worth
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me, because I was apparently "too good" for her. FML
Mysterious girl
Today, my girlfriend of two years broke up with me. It was our anniversary just 3 nights ago, and she said she was sorry for leading me on. She still hasn’t told me why. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me because I was unsuccessful at a job interview, and she didn't want to be with someone who "has no future". She's unemployed too. FML
This is the end
Today, my girlfriend of 8 months and I broke up. We decided to give back everything we ever bought for each other. I gave her the stuff she bought me and when I asked for my stuff she said she'd sold it and spent the money on herself. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me because she believes I "jinxed" her chances of getting the job she wanted. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me for being "too clingy". I haven't seen her in over 3 weeks and texted her first once. Guess that's still too much for her. FML
Today, I found out the girl I was in love with has a new boyfriend. I blame myself because I believed her when she said she "wasn't ready" for a relationship. FML
Cheap labor
Today, I got broken up with, after renovating her family's apartment over the last 9 months. She even waited until I'd hung the last lights, whose shipment was delayed. FML
Today, I finished hauling all of my possessions from another state, because I was supposed to move in with my girlfriend. I was just waiting to find a job. Almost as soon as my stuff was delivered, she broke up with me and told me to figure out getting it all back by myself. FML

it's for the better, you have no time for a relationship anyway. soooo.... why even start one if you are going to be nonexistant? two jobs and college, that gotta suck.

you really shouldn't be dating at all think abt it from her point of view she never sees you and your gone all hours how is a realiatuonship like that supposed to work? you weren't selfish but she wasn't your priority andshe felt like she needed to be. she shouldve come talk to you but she didn't so now it's time to move on

Why did you date her if you knew you were too busy with work and college to really hold down a relationship?

Maybe my fiance is Superman, but we have been together for 6 years, he has 2 undergrad degrees, is working on a masters, works 2 jobs, AND works a graduate assistantship, but I have never felt neglected by him and we're getting married this summer.

I think your fiance IS Superman. Don't let him escape.

2 Degrees at the same time? How/why/wtf?

It is not that uncommon if your areas of interest include or are somewhat in-between two fields of study. I'm getting my Electronics and Computer Engineering degree shortly and have a handful of classes to finish for my Computer Science degree before I start grad school.

@#82: There are plenty of ways to be working on two degrees at the same time: Most universities have double undergraduate degree programs (not just double majors). Many universities have joint graduate degree programs. OP is in Pennsylvania. So he could be working on, say, a JD/MBA program at Villanova or Pitt. Penn has a joint MBA/MA in international studies, as well as a joint JD/MBA program and a joint JD/MD program. I'm sure there are many I'm leaving out. And honestly, if he's in any one of those, I can see why she thought he didn'thave time for her. Most programs like that, you're so busy you don't have time to fart.

On the bright side, if she really cared about you, she would have been patient, so it's probably better this way. I love my boyfriend to death, and it isn't terribly difficult for me to hardly ever see him, because I know he's working a job and triple majoring now, then attending grad school so that our lives will be better later. Yeah, it's not easy, but relationships never really are. Still, FYL OP. Breakups are tough, especially when you didn't do anything wrong.

If she's going to be lonely she might as well be alone.

You shouldn't have gotten into a relationship if you were that busy all the time. At the same time, if she knew you had such a busy schedule, then she should've realized that the relationship wouldn't satisfy her. It goes both ways.

Don't put words in her mouth. She felt neglected because, by your admission, she was neglected. You must really think you're some hot shit to have this girl sitting alone waiting for you. You want a good career, you make the sacrifices, but don't turn that into her being a bitch-she's not your wife. Now make like a tree and get outta here! Nobody wants to hear it!

Yeah, you are selfish. It feels like crap not to be worth your partner's time. You obviously don't have time for a relationship right now, or don't think your girlfriend should be a priority, so why make her suffer?

she should be able to understand what she got herself into. good luck finding someone who does
