Today, the girl I have been dating for the past couple months broke it off with me. She said she's tired of waiting around for me and being ignored in the mean time. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been so greedy as to finish my 2 degrees and work 2 jobs to pay for my school. How selfish of me. FML

Today, my girlfriend left me at 11pm after leading me on for 5 months, all because she lost interest. I wasted so much time, money, and emotions on her, and never received them from her. FML

Today, I finished hauling all of my possessions from another state, because I was supposed to move in with my girlfriend. I was just waiting to find a job. Almost as soon as my stuff was delivered, she broke up with me and told me to figure out getting it all back by myself. FML

you really shouldn't be dating at all think abt it from her point of view she never sees you and your gone all hours how is a realiatuonship like that supposed to work? you weren't selfish but she wasn't your priority andshe felt like she needed to be. she shouldve come talk to you but she didn't so now it's time to move on

You don't have to complain about it. You were busy and she wanted time, neither of you are really at fault. Not all relationships are meant to work out. Yet I do agree with people that if you want it to work you will make it work. Both my boyfriend and I are extremely busy, he is in engineering and a president of the activities board at his school. I am a performance major and hold two jobs, on top of auditioning for grad school, and on top of that we don't attend the same college. We make it work, so if you all had really wanted this to work, both of you would have tried more.

By definition, putting your needs before someone else's is selfish. However, this is one of those times where selfishness IS acceptable and, in a perfect world, encouraged. He's only been dating her for 2 months! It's not like she's his fiancee or, even worse, wife. He's putting his future before a random girl he's been involved with for a couple months. It's clear they weren't very compatible anyway, therefore there's no reason for him to commit career-suicide. GREAT JOB, OP!

you're not going to have time to spend with any girl with 2 degrees. now or in the future. most likely you will get a good paying job and working long hours. your future wife will nag because you're working too much and not spending time with the her and the kids. but you'll be too busy on business trips and what not.
