Today, the day before I was going to move in with my army fiancé, he was told he would be deployed very soon. I can't pay for the apartment without him, and now have to move back in with my parents until he returns from active duty. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found out that my fiancé is going to be deployed on our wedding day. FML
And yet you have phone? Curious Andy
Today, I packed up to get ready to move to my boyfriend’s. I just graduated high school and I don’t get along with his mom, but I have no other choice of living. I was supposed to move in with his family tomorrow but now his mom won’t let me. It was last minute, and I’m basically homeless. FML
Missed me?
Today, I caught a flight to see my boyfriend, who is stationed in the army 300 miles away. When I was just 15 minutes from the base he called to say that we should break up. Now I'm heading back to California, single and broke. FML
Today, my boyfriend came home from a two week vacation and told me I needed to move out. FML
Today, I'm seven months into a twelve month deployment. I called my fiancée, and she dumped me. The worst part is that two days ago, I re-enlisted to go to a unit an hour away from her house. FML
Moving day
Today, I just got a new assignment for the moving company I work for. Two weeks ago my fiancé dumped me and I moved out of the house. Almost all of the furniture was mine and it took forever. The new moving assignment I have is moving her new boyfriend into my old house. FML
Today, my fiancé's mother made him pack his stuff and move to Montana while I was at work. I came home to a half-written note because she wouldn’t let him finish. We own a house together. FML
Surprise!
Today, my boyfriend told me he’d have a surprise for me when I got home. The surprise was he’d moved out, dumped me, and cut me off from his share of the bills, because he’s not interested in marriage and babies. I can’t afford the rent by myself so I’m going to have to move back to my mother's. FML
Today, my newly ex-fiancé, the father of my 5-year-old child, moved out of state with no warning. I just spent my last $500 paying off his car, and the rent is due tomorrow. FML
Boots on the ground
Today, I learned that my husband is getting deployed for we don’t know how long, and I’ll be left all alone, in a different country far away from home. FML

when you're an "army wife," minor/major setbacks is what you will have to deal with. It wont be easy.

A lot of people on here are stupid. Getting married for the money is not the right reason. Do it when your ready. He probably does care about you or he wouldn't have proposed and he's just distracted by the deployment and of course you don't want to bring it up because you don't want to seem shallow, but what kind of relationship is it anyways if you can't be honest with him about your living situation.

well being a army wife, theres gonna be tough times, and you shouldnt be upset, this is not an fml at all, you should know what your getting yourself into and understand its his job and instead of being upset that you have to move home for a while just focus on being supportive of him!

lmao. Agreed. I'm an Army Fiancé and I'm pretty sure I'm still a civilian. Fail. Plus OP apparently he doesn't care too much or he'd have the money deposited into your account or split it half and half. he's allowed to split his paycheck and put it where ever he wants it. If he wanted an apartment with you he'd do that.

ppl have already told you to get used to your man being away. I was in the army and it's part of the job. another part of the job is getting used to ass hole civilians. They like to talk shit about the military and don't even realize that without that same military they wouldn't be free to talk shit at all. Still we defend their freedoms, their homeland, their families, only to be ridiculed for the sacrifices we and our families make. If you're a civilian reading this and want to say something "you're no different than me" don't bother. I never expected for you to understand. Tell your man thanks for me and good luck with the parents.

Get married asap, you get more money. It may seem unromantic but it's absolutely worth it. In fact, they'll provide money for his family's living expenses if you get a place. He can keep his apartment, with you in it, while he's overseas all on the government's dime.
