Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I had to explain to my son why it is not okay to slap old women's butts. He's 16. FML
Today, my 15-year-old birth daughter asked if I've ever had sex. FML
Today, my 18 year old son asked me to check if there were any monsters under his bed. FML
Today, my son turned 18. He now calls me by my first name instead of "dad" and refuses to stop. FML
Little shit
Today, while at a family reunion, I jokingly asked my 18-year-old son, "When are you and your girlfriend going to give me a grandson?" He then retorted, "When are you going to die?" I was unable to answer at all. FML
Today, my son's teacher asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up. He put down "unemployed". FML
Today, my grandson asked how old I am and whether I'd seen Mammoths "for real" when I was a kid. FML
Good news
Today, I told to my son that I'm pregnant. After I'd told him, he looked up and yelled, "Fuck this shit!" and walked out of the room. My son is nine years-old. FML
Today, I found FML for the first time in class, and literally laughed out loud in the middle of the lecture in front of 200 classmates. Today's lecture? The cruelties of slavery. FML
Today, I once again told my son he needed a job and a girlfriend because I simply could not keep him in my house anymore. He yelled, "No, I can do whatever I want!" Then went back to playing video games. He's 38. FML

It's not that silly of a question. The state of Mississippi only finally completed the legal process of abolishing slavery in February 2013. Fact.

In the US no, but in countless countries slavery still exists.

Give him a break, slavery is by no means restricted to forced labor and being in chains. Dr. King's civil rights movement is far from over which was made apparent in recent news over the Travon Martin controversy

correct me if I'm wrong but the trayvon Martin case was a huge thing on RACISM not slavery. very different
