Today, my mother learned a new expression and uses it in every sentence. Her special, new expression is "boom diggity." It's apparently "hip." FML

Today, after being told by her therapist to try to make her kids a bigger part of her life because we're so distant from her, my mom's new favorite thing to do is to constantly use the words "YOLO" and "swag" around us. FML
Today, my mom finally learned how to text. Now it's her way of communicating, even when we're in the same room. FML
Today, my 4 year-old daughter's favorite expression became "shit balls." FML
Today, my mom discovered a new way to get over her breakup: yodelling. FML
Today, my daughter taught me the literal meaning of "When the shit hits the fan." FML
Today, I told my mom I was going through a growth spurt. She said, "Yeah, horizontally." FML
Today, a four-year-old said a word that I didn't know the meaning of. I had to look up the definition. FML
Today, my mom started her new job; she's now my new coworker. She's already told the other girl I'd said she talks too much, and has berated me for not calling her "Mom" while at work. FML
Today, my two year old girl said "motherfucker". Everyone laughed, even her grandparents. Our family is insane. FML
Today, my son said his first complete sentence: "Mommy likes shit." Not only will he not stop saying it, I have no idea who taught him to say it in the first place. FML

Yeah, “hip” as in “hip replacement.” I’m old and that sounds like something my grandpa would’ve used. Try to steer her to the more modern “cat’s pajamas.”
