Today, my mom discovered a new way to get over her breakup: yodelling. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I overheard my mother Skyping with her new "boyfriend" about the $1,000 she just sent him. She barely knew what internet dating was three weeks ago. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me because she heard me say "love you" on the phone. I was talking to my mom. FML
Today, I found out my boyfriend's mom still refers to his ex as 'the daughter she never had.' FML
Thanks but no thanks
Today, I called my mom to see how she was doing. She quickly hijacked the conversation and said that she's signed me up for a dating site, because she feels bad that I can't find a decent man. I've been dating my boyfriend for seven months, and she's seen me with him multiple times. FML
Today, my neighbours' whiny emo of a daughter got dumped by her boyfriend. In her infinite wisdom, she's chosen to cope by playing on her recorder the worst rendition of "My Heart Will Go On" that I've ever heard. It's been going on all day. Now I know why he dumped this idiot. FML
Today, my mom called me to tell me she'd got in touch with my ex for his birthday, and that the two of them had made a plan for us to get back together. My new boyfriend was in the process of proposing to me. FML
Today, after we got home from the doctor's office, my mom checked the voicemail. Loud and clear, we both heard my boyfriend's break-up message. My parents had already forbidden me from dating. FML
Got talent?
Today, I told my mom that I want to try out for a singing competition on TV, so I might be able to kick off my musical career. She convinced me to sing a song for her, so I did. Mid-way through, she lost it, burst into laughter, and told me to stay in school. FML
Today, I told my mom about the rough time I'm having over my recent break-up, and how I can't help thinking about my ex every single day. Her attempt to console me involved saying, "Pft. I bet he doesn't think about you every day" and walking away. Thanks. FML
New Man
Today, my widowed mother told me she's been seeing a guy for the last 5 months. No problem. But now she insists on calling him, "New Daddy." I'm 37 and she lives across the street. FML

It's a lot better than getting wasted! Silver lining.

Play the Trollolo song and tell her to keep singing it. Everyone wins that way...

#1 I don't think it's coincidence that your display pic is Billy Ray Cyrus. Now I'm trying to figure out how to yodel "don't break my heart, my achy breaky heart".

Hey if it's helping her cope who are you to tell her not to? Invest in ear plugs if it's that bad.

Haha now I am too #33

Their poor neighbors
iOceanus 18
Maybe they can get the neighbors in on it! They'll be singing the blues after listening to that combination.
cakefete2 31
Unless they're the neighbors that have a daughter who's learning the recorder. In which case, they've probably lost either their hearing or their sanity by now.

44, they lost both

There are worse ways to cope with sorrow... Murdering for example.
ChristianH39 30
Although I think OP would appreciate being murdered right about now

Thanks for making me laugh.

#35: I don't think OP wants THAT permanent solution to her temporary problem.
foxwasalamb 24
creative..? i guess. could be worse. could be naked yodelling
rainbowdog 17
She could be doing that publicly, if she isn't already.
cakefete2 31
If OP's mom is hot, naked yodeling in public might get her a date. On one hand, no more yodeling. On the other, psychiatrists are expensive.
sayyestothedress 24
Or singing terribly
sayyestothedress 24
What the **** #45! Why the hell would she yodel naked in the streets for a date. Plus she already has a husband! Unless their divorced b
HockeyPlayerLife 13
Hey, maybe take her to a mountain one day and let her yodel as much as she wants while you sit in the car listening to music!
lexiieeex3 32
Or while listening to The Sound of Music.

And now I picture your mom as Mr. Bone. See who gets the reference.
cumberbunny 17
No one.

Sorry for your ears, OP, but that's a pretty awesome and funny story to tell!
paigexox0 37
Well its unique, gotta give her that!! I think you should be proud of her honestly, break ups are hard and most people tend to choose self destructive ways of coping.
False_Stupidity 42
Instead she chooses a method destructive to everyone else's ears and sanity...
