Today, my mom took my cell to work with her. When she got home later, she scolded me for not answering her calls. When I pointed out that she'd taken it, she grounded me for "talking back". FML

Today, my normally very modest and prissy mom came home, pissed off about something. I asked her what was wrong, but she wouldn't say, and snapped at me to "fuck off." She then grounded me for "making" her use that kind of "vile language." FML
Today, my mother-in-law told my fiancé that I had to leave and wasn’t allowed to live there anymore. I own the house. She’s mad because I locked the door so she couldn't walk in anytime she wanted. FML
Today, my parents grounded me because I refused to do my little sister's homework for her. FML
Today, I was grounded by my mom because I had slept in past 11, when she wanted me to wake up at seven to do chores. According to her logic, I should have seen the note she left on the counter earlier this morning. FML

Today, I was grounded for not agreeing with an article on dating my mom found in a very strict magazine. The article told parents to monitor phone calls, make rumors about their children cheating on people, and not allow their children anywhere but home. FML

This is a win for you. just don't accept the grounding from this crazy woman, and you'll be able to get rid of your crazy husband too! Though it sounds like he has no balls and is probably just bluffing with the whole "it won't work out" thing. So you'll have to be the one to file the divorce, and he'll probably get more of your mutual friends. fair trade still.

was it like.... flooding conditions out?? or freezing rain??? you must be pregnant??? i can't think of any other reason a MIL would be so obsessed w/ a DIL's safety.... so how long are you grounded?? at least she didn't take the internet away. :) you just can't go out.... lol..
