Today, my mother-in-law told my fiancé that I had to leave and wasn’t allowed to live there anymore. I own the house. She’s mad because I locked the door so she couldn't walk in anytime she wanted. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Good boy
Today, my mother locked me out of the house. Why? The dog and her needed some time to talk. FML
Get out
Today, I found out that my mother changed all the locks of the house and threw away all of my girlfriend's stuff. I don't know what the fuck happened there. I actually bought the house two years ago because I had enought of her being nosey and controlling with both of us. FML
Call the police!
Today, I came home after a long day at work to find the furniture in my living room had been rearranged by my mother-in-law. When asked how she got in, she told us she stole my husband's key and made herself a copy. She can now come here whenever she wants, unless I change the locks. FML
Leave me alone!
Today, despite my insistence that I didn't need her, my mom showed up at my door to move in to "help out" after my wife's death. I refused to let her in, so now she's staying at a hotel, and the whole family is angry at me. FML
Don't go
Today, my mother told me she thinks it is time for me to move into my own place. I agreed with her and went to look at studios/flats online. She later came into my room, saw me looking at places and then got pissed off at me, saying that I hate her for wanting to leave her. FML
Paging Taylor Swift
Today, my mom ambushed me with my cheating ex-fiancé, thinking being in the same room would miraculously change the past and we’d get back together. When I tried to walk out, my mom screamed like a banshee and latched onto my leg. After this I’m putting her in a retirement home and never visiting. FML
Today, my husband told me that he's letting his mother move in with us. He told her it was alright without even consulting me first. I hate my mother-in-law so much that I'm contemplating divorce rather than living with her. FML
Today, I was talking to my mom about how my fiancé has been ignoring me and that I didn't know why. Turns out, my mother told him that I was too much of a handful, was mentally disturbed and also cheating on him. Just so I wouldn't move out and would keep cleaning her house for free. FML
Parasite
Today, and since we've had our baby, my mother-in-law started coming round more often, then bringing her stuff to stay overnight, then started claiming she lived here, and got hysterical when we told her she doesn’t. I had to pick her up and place her outside while she punched me in the head repeatedly. FML
Today, since my parents always told me that I was welcome to come home whenever I want or need, I decided to stop by. They'd changed the locks and wouldn't let me in. FML

If you own the house there’s no problem. Make sure she doesn’t have a spare set of keys

Contact the police and see what your rights are in terms of a restraining order

You don't just marry a person, you marry their family too. You become part of the family. So unless you are planning to move very far away once you are married, you will be spending all kinds of time with a crazy mom who clearly doesn't think you are good enough for her son and also believes she should have access to your home. Run...run far, run fast, and don't look back.

Give her a gift that includes a restraining order!

How can your future MIL kick you out of your own house? And your fiance needs to set some boundaries with his mother now or she'll make your marriage hell.

Front door, or bedroom door? Front door: restraining order, big talk with fiance Bedroom door: big talk with fiance about her moving out

Time to talk to your SO about ground rules. obviously they need to grow up and talk to their mother and tell them what is and isn't okay in YOUR home. And if they aren't grown enough to do that, it might be time to find someone new

How on earth do you get to the point where you have to lock your MIL out? I expect she's crossed the line too often. I hope your fiancé tells her where to get off at least!

Having to deal with someone so unreasonable, obviously.
