Today, my mother hacked my Facebook and broke up with my boyfriend and pretended to be me. She told him if he ever talks to me again, she'll call the cops. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found out my mom pretended to be me and had AIM conversations with my boyfriend. FML
Today, I logged onto Facebook and found out that my own mother unfriended me because she didn't want her new boyfriend to know that she had a daughter. FML
Today, I made a fake Facebook account for a girl, and then set my relationship status to make it look like the fake person was my girlfriend. Someone found out and hacked the fake account. My fake girlfriend just dumped me over Facebook. FML
Today, my mom friended all my friends on Facebook then thought it'd be a good idea to try and act like a teen so she'd be considered 'cool'. FML
Buzz off
Today, my mother is mad at me for deleting my Facebook account. I actually deleted the account because I'd had enough of putting up with her criticizing comments on every Facebook post I made. FML
Thanks but no thanks
Today, I called my mom to see how she was doing. She quickly hijacked the conversation and said that she's signed me up for a dating site, because she feels bad that I can't find a decent man. I've been dating my boyfriend for seven months, and she's seen me with him multiple times. FML
Corruption
Today, my boyfriend just told me that his mom told him to break up with me, and that she would pay him to do it. His mom is a bitch. FML
Today, I found out my stalker is my mom's new boyfriend. FML

Sorry but somebody was bound to say it if I didn't
ninjuh_wingman 29
So what? Let her call the cops. There's no crime for seeing a person unless there's a restraining order involved.

Uh sorry? No. I started dating my boyfriend when I was 17. My parents didn't like him and told me to break up with him. I didn't. Too bad for them. Parents need to learn that they cannot control every aspect of their child's life.

Gween, I hate to agree, but yet I must. Even though kids hate to admit it, parents usually do know best. If my mother had done that back when I was younger(not that facebook existed then) I wouldn't have been able to move in with my dirtbag boyfriend when I was 16. Kind of eff'd my life up big-time. Chill out OP, your mom's probably just looking out for you.

As a very young mother myself now, I know how important it is to listen to your parents. Look, the way she did what she did is not ok. BUT did she try to tell you she doesnt approve of him? Have you even asked her why she doesn't like him? Would you listen to what she has to say? Being stubborn and not taking advice from your parents could really come back to bite you in the ass later. Why don't you hear your mother out, she only wants what is best for you.

There's a difference between parents having opinions and listening to their opinions and parents CONTROLLING everything their child does. Apparently 25 thinks that's okay. It's not. My parents are like that (or they try to be) and I hate them. It's a sure way to have your kids resent you.
ohmandapants 17
Well if they can't overlook the flaws that's their problem. Parents can't control everything and can't protect their kids from everything. Kids need to make their own mistakes, how else would they learn from them? And the cases you present are extreme and I'm sure if your mom hadn't butted in, you would have made the right decision for you. Kids aren't robots who are programmed to make the wrong choices every time.

Parents do not own their kids. Granted, parents may know what is best for their kids, but in no way does someone have the right to invade their child's privacy; UNLESS the child gives probable cause. Just because you are a parent does not give you the right to intrude on your child's life. Sit down with them and talk about the rights and wrongs of life and advise them. You are there to help them GROW how can they grow and learn as a person if you CONTROL their every move like they are action figures.

Not trying to get involved in the argument. I don't know what the laws are elsewhere, but in Oklahoma, the law is that a child under the age of 18 is legally bound to their parents until they're 18. BUT once the child turns 16 they may date whoever they want as long as their date does not exceed 6 years in age. Emancipation is not legal in Oklahoma. So the only way out for a minor is if you get married. Parents gotta be there and you gotta be older than 16..

It annoys me to no end when people say "My facebook was hacked" idiots...
THE_A_TEEN 28
Technically, the op's facebook was hacked since her mom used it to pretented it is op to break up with her boyfriend. The fact that it annoys you must mean your mind is still back in the 20's where there was no computers.

Can't you just call your boyfriend and explain to him what happened?
eyeIoveyou 4
you're right, she could definitely fix this situation. but the worst part of this FML is that her mom would even think or do this in the first place >:|

You deserve it just for using the word "hack" wrong
THE_A_TEEN 28
Just 1 word and you blame op? You people are all the same.
desireev 18
How did she use the term "hack" wrong??
cinderella10383 6
Lvl19 you are an idiot where in the FML does it say she left it logged in? She used the word hack correctly. Her mother broke into her Facebook without her permission!

Cracking an account open takes time and skill. Anybody with the ability to genuinely "hack" people wouldn't waste it breaking into a Facebook account. The following incidences DON'T count as hacking; • Exploiting the "remember passwords" feature of many browsers and applications (i.e. LastPass and Firefox.) • Exploiting the fact that an account has been left signed into on an accessible computer. • Finding out her daughter's password and using that to cause trouble.

She doesn't deserve that just cuz of that, maybe if you grew up in our generation you'd have a clue how the word goes about in this generation. Your obviously too old and outdated to understand. That was a total privacy violation on her moms part- she's a mom, a model, someone to look up to- a role model doesn't get onto her daughters account, pretend she's her daughter and break up with her boyfriend, not to mention that is just mean and vindictive. You disgust me.

On a somewhat unrelated note, this actually counts as identity theft.
