Today, my mom informed me that my entire family puts their dirty towels on the towel rack in the bathroom instead of the hamper. I've been using their dirty towels after showers for as long as I remember. FML

Today, when I visited my daughter's apartment that she moved into about 3 months ago, I found out that she buys new underwear every time she runs out instead of washing her dirty ones. Her dirty ones have their own special hamper. FML
Today, I found out that my roommate of over 8 years assumed “the rag” I keep “above the toilet” was meant for wiping, and “the rag” on the separate towel rack was for washing your face. I have used the hand towel “above the toilet” to dry my hands after washing for a decade. FML
Today, my sister confessed that when she runs out of clean underwear, she uses mine. That wouldn't be so bad if she didn't also put it back in my dresser afterwards so I wouldn't notice. FML
Today, I was drying myself with a towel after a shower when I noticed a bad smell. After running out of toilet paper last night, one of my friends decided to use my clean towel to wipe herself instead. FML
Today, my new roommate moved in. It seems that instead of using toilet paper like a normal human being, she instead opts to use the nearest towel in reach. I found this out when I went to dry off with mine after a shower. FML
Today, I'm on a class trip to Washington DC. Last night, my roommate took a shower, and I decided that I would take one in the morning. This morning, I found out after I got out of the shower that my roommate used one towel for drying himself, and the other for a mat. He didn't hang either of them up. FML
Today, my daughter used my towel. She thought that because it was clean, it would be okay. She’s 27. FML
Today, I caught my mom using my toothbrush and washcloth again, despite her having both her own bathroom and supplies. I asked her to please not use mine, to which she called me an ungrateful bitch. My dad agreed. Yet they wonder why I've been desperately saving money to move out. FML
Today, I learned that my aunt, who lives with us, is using our chopsticks in her hair and putting them back in the utensil drawer without washing them. I'm the one that uses chopsticks the most. FML
Today, I found out my whole family has been mistakenly using the same toothbrush for over a month. FML

I don't follow your logic, kiddo. Doesn't everybody in your household have their own towel? Or... do you expect that everybody uses a towel only once, then places it in the hamper soaking wet, and then puts a new towel on the rack? Me, I use towels for a few days before they go in the laundry, unless they're really dirty. (It would be really expensive and take up a ton of space to have a set of towels for every day of the week.) Between uses, they sit on the rack to dry. When I was a kid, each had our own bath towel, and would do the same thing. If you leave wet towels in the hamper for a few days, they're going to get moldy and gross - that's why you let them dry out, first. You're not going to die from using the same towel as a blood relative.

Shouldn't you be clean after you shower??? Its like using a dish towel to dry your dishes after you clean them.

I'm actually the OP to this one, and I'm really disapointed this was the FML they posted. Anyways, I should have made myself clear in the FML. (I was really tired when I wrote it) In my bathroom we have a double towel rack. (I really don't know any other way to describe it.) The arrangment used to be that the top rack was a clean towel you could use after a shower. The bottom rack had a dirty towel drying and a small towel to dry your hands on after you washed them. After someone would take a shower the now-dirty towel was moved to the bottom shelf and the now-dry towel was put in the hamper. Then it was your responsibity to put a clean towel on the rack for the next person. After I took a shower I opened the door and my mom saw me put the dry towel in the hamper before I left the bathroom. She yelled at me for putting a wet towel in there. I explained myself and she laughed saying the entire family hasn't followed the arrangment in awhile. It did truly disgust me, because I'm sure my brother does nasty things in the shower, and even if things are clean I really don't like thinking about it. I am REALLY disapointed this FML was posted. I had actual funny ones, and this is the one fml they chose... which really sucks.

Word of advice: Have your own towel. That way, you don't have to share with anyone else or rely on others to actually leave dry, clean ones out. And so you don't end up in horrible situations like yours. Familyfail!

well if they just took a shower, then the towels wouldn't be dirty from being used. they'd just be wet
