Today, my girlfriend of over a year broke up with me. Two weeks ago she complained that I didn't act like I really loved her. I then became more involved and caring just for her to show my love. The reason she broke up with me? Because I was "suffocating her with clinginess." FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my girlfriend tearfully complained that I was smothering her to death with my clinginess, and that I should learn to respect her boundaries. This is after she complained I wasn't giving her enough attention. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me for being "too clingy". I haven't seen her in over 3 weeks and texted her first once. Guess that's still too much for her. FML
Check yourself before you wreck yourself
Today, I dumped my girlfriend because she frequently wouldn't answer my texts or phone calls, and not call or message back for days. I felt that bringing it up made me a control freak. I couldn't take it anymore. FML
Know your worth
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me, because I was apparently "too good" for her. FML
Today, I told my boyfriend I loved him. His response? "Is that why you have been so clingy and annoying lately?" FML
Today, my girlfriend of 2 years broke up with me because I wouldn't make my senior quote, "I love my girlfriend more than anything." FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me. As everything was ending, I tried to save the relationship by telling her how much I cared about her. Her response? "Please stop. You're gonna make me feel bad." FML
Smothered
Today, I wrote "I love you" on my girlfriend's Facebook wall. She completely freaked out and accused me of being "too clingy" and that I'm starting to feel more like a stalker than a boyfriend. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me because "we don't communicate enough". She got her friend to tell me this for her. FML
Priorities
Today, my girlfriend ended things. We'd had issues because of my communication skills and her confidence, but we were working on it. The last straw? That I couldn't stay with her one night because I suddenly had to go home and take care of my sick mother. She then asked to talk and said I was neglecting her. FML

Yeah, sounds like you two weren't right for each other anyways if you had to conciously become involved and caring.

Or he was simply trying to be conscientious of the *way* she [seemingly] preferred to be careful. Every healthy relationship that lasts more than 7 years goes thru working out those kinks. It's all about communicating the nonspokens. [Update: Above was in response to what you'd originally typed :-]

YDI for trying to serenade her with Clay Aiken songs.

sounds like she's one of those bitches who want constant attention, and then when they get constant attention they complain about how clingy the guy is. you're better off without a bitch like her, and FYL

There's a word for that; insatiable. Rarely sexual in nature (but great when it IS!).

You're better off without this whining snivelling snot!

YDI for being a cold, insensitive prick! When you tried to turn on the charm, it came off as phony, forced and contrived. You can't even pretend to be loving without making a fool of yourself. Such a fine, sensitive lady deserves to be treated with care and respect and tenderness. Does she **** on the first date?

How the hell do you know what happened? Feel free to offer this man your opinion, but your spiteful comments do nothing but show that you've had a bad experience in the past. So have we all. A mindframe like yours is NOT HEALTHY. Thumbs down, no one deserves someone like you.
