Today, my first grade student apologized for cutting his bangs off in class, and explained that it was his mom's birthday and he had wanted to make her an origami flower. Out of his hair. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Good one, mom
Today, my mum started yelling at me for leaving scissors on my desk, which my five year-old sister found and chopped all her hair off. She had a lump of hair as proof. After three minutes of her yelling, me crying and apologizing, she laughed and said she was joking. She'd just given my sister a haircut. FML
Today, my 8 year old son cut his own hair. He did a better job than I ever did. I'm a hairdresser. FML
Today, my son told me he needed a haircut. I was thrilled that he actually requested it, since he normally throws a fit over getting them. He described the cut he wants. It's a mullet. FML
Kids…
Today, at my job as a teacher, I saw a student cut another student's hair, I stopped a group of students from eating glue, and I had to tell a student to put away the toy cars he was playing with. I teach high school math. FML
Broken haircut
Today, as a broke 19-year-old college student, I thought I could save money by cutting my own hair before a presentation. I did one side fine, got distracted and somehow made the other side two inches shorter. I spent the whole class angling my head like I had a neck injury. FML
Today, I was tutoring kids at an elementary school. One kid messed up my hair. I said, "Why'd you do that??" He said, "I have lice, now you have lice too!" FML
Today, my 4-year-old son cut half of my hair when I was asleep because he thought I would look better that way. FML
Today, I put my hand up in class. I forgot that I hadn't shaved. FML
Bad hair day
Today, I mistook a little girl for a boy. Unfortunately, I only realised my mistake until after I'd cut her hair. FML
Today, while my mother-in-law visited, I asked if she wouldn't mind watching my son for 10 minutes as I had run out of baby shampoo. I came back home to see she had shaved his head completely bald. That was his very first haircut. FML

Ah, yes. Origami, the ancient Japanese art of hair folding.

Uh, simple misunderstandings like this are pretty common. I recently handed in a TPS report comprised entirely of toenails; turns out they wanted it on paper! Hahaha, no big deal!

Gee, that's not creepy at all. Today, my wonderful, thoughtful son gave me a birthday card. He made out of his own hair. FML

A son with a prematurely receding hairline -- every mother's dearest birthday wish!

That's actually really sweet if not a bit whack haha. Kids are the darndest and have the most original ideas sometimes

Nice idea, poor execution. I mean, I've heard of giving people braids of your hair as a cultural family thing, but that's a different matter. Though, I guess hypothetically if you weaved cloth from your hair you would be able to make something like origami, but that'd take a lot of hair and lot of time.

Sounds fair enough, at least he was thoughtful.

Actually that was a fashion trend back in 1960 or 1970ies. I remember my mom had several professionally made hair flowers. Those were used to decorate beehive type of hairdo on very special occasions. And later when they went out of fashion - for child's play. Own hair or bought, didn't need much, a thin strand would be enough. Consisted 50:50 of hair and hairspray. As far as I understand they were made by laying a thin layer of hair on paper, spray, dry, fold/bend, cut in shape, remove paper. Not exactly as origami, they had soft bends not sharp folds.

Dude, it's a child, probably 6 or 7, they don't know any better so be easier on them christ. I can understand if this was a High School student, but this is just a child.

Yeah, he's very clever for his age. I wouldn't even thought of that. Sweet kid.
