Today, my fiancée broke up with me because I "don't know what I'm doing with my future". I've done four years in the Marines and am in the process of becoming an officer. She has a film degree which she has no interest in, works at the mall, and just moved back in with her dad. FML

Today, my girlfriend broke up with me because I was unsuccessful at a job interview, and she didn't want to be with someone who "has no future". She's unemployed too. FML
Today, my girlfriend of three years broke up with me because I'm in the military and I'm gone too much. The reason I enlisted in the first place is because we agreed that the money and benefits I would earn would help us be able to start a family in the future. FML
Today, my girlfriend told me she'd support my decision to stay in, or get out of the military, so I renewed my contract...... She broke up with me for it. FML

Today, my fiancée of 4 years decided she can't live with me anymore. She never gave a reason, just upped and left. FML
Today, I'm seven months into a twelve month deployment. I called my fiancée, and she dumped me. The worst part is that two days ago, I re-enlisted to go to a unit an hour away from her house. FML
Today, my girlfriend of over a year broke up with me while I'm deployed overseas. Her reason why is that she needs "to be alone to better herself." FML
Today, I met the girl who dumped me because the distance between us was too great. We're in the same city again. She's now dating a Marine in Iraq. FML
Today, my girlfriend of three years broke up with me, saying I don’t make her happy, I don’t make her laugh, that she feels she is settling for me, and that she's not being pleased sexually. Even though she has always said I did all of that, and that we could work through anything. I was going to propose. FML

Her loss. You sound like a great guy- finish your passion career with the Marines (thanks SO much btw) and then get yourself a REAL girlfriend. No girl can withstand a sexy Marine... ;)

You Know what I've noticed? There are SO MANY FMLs Like this! "Today [Some person said/did something demeaning my person], I am [HUGE LIST of awesome things about me] and [Something derogatory about the offender]. Screw her. She isn't Semper Fidelis, & plus you deserve a far more understanding fiancee than her. Btw, I'm a Marine fiancee/wife :) And take it from me, it takes A LOT to be one. Guess she wasn't created for the Marine life.

I hope nobody thinks I hate the service when I say "that's what you get for being a Marine." It's just that my husband is in the Army and we like to pick on Marines. So...that's what you get for being a Marine. THAT BEING SAID, **** her and go you. At least you're taking responsibility for the important things that you believe in.
