Today, I found out that my boyfriend cheated on me by testing myself for STIs/STDs and got a positive result for chlamydia. FML
Today, I came back from the doctor after having been diagnosed with a UTI. My dad now won't shut up about it, saying stuff like, "You must be 'pissed'", "Looks like 'urine' a bit of pain", and "'Urea'-lly need some antibiotics, son", all while making obnoxious finger quotes in the air. FML
Today, my boyfriend got his results from the doctor: the weeping sore under his foreskin isn’t an STD like I accused him of, it’s merely a bacterial skin infection from not washing his penis. He’s acting all smug, like not cheating on me somehow makes up for being a bacteria-ridden petri dish. FML
Today, I confessed my feelings to the guy I've been seeing. He confessed that he gave me chlamydia. FML
Today, my boyfriend asked me how women could urinate with a tampon in. FML
Today, I flushed the toilet while my boyfriend was showering. He responded by throwing a huge fit, saying how if he “gets a cold” from being “forced” to shower in cold water, I’m gonna “have to stay home and take care of him until he’s better.” FML
Today, while making plans with my boyfriend, I told him we could have lunch after my appointment with the gynecologist. He started screaming, cussing and calling me a whore. According to him, women only go to the gyno if they have an STD, which I must’ve gotten from cheating. He’s an idiot. FML
Today, I told my boyfriend I had diabetes. He won't talk to me anymore because he thinks I'll infect him with it. FML
Today, my boyfriend got mad at me because I refused to keep him company while he took a shit. FML
Today, my boyfriend had to give me an enema. FML

There is a virus that lowers brain function about the same as intoxication, if I remember right. So in theory you can catch stupid.

I think some UTIs can be spread sexually though, well the bacteria anyway. Most are caused by poor hygiene.

There's also lots of causes and poor hygiene is not the most common cause. Other health issues may also raise the risk of uti such as diabetes, or in my case a spinal injury. Also majority of females will experience a uti at some point in their life... doesn't mean they're unhygienic. Come on people research, it's handy.

I thought a man could pass a UTI onto a woman, but not the other way around because I man's urethra is involved in sexual intercourse, but a woman's isn't. Or did "The Green Mile" lie to me?

I don't think men pass it along, but women can get UTIs from having sex generally if they don't pee afterwards to get the bacteria out of the urethra, since bacteria can get shoved up there from...the, yknow, motions.

UTIs can be a recurring problem for some women, the last thing they need is the stigma that they're dirty and unhygienic people, check your facts before you start spreading that silliness please.

I completely agree #3. However the boyfriends research likely consists of tv shows as I've personally seen a tv sitcom mention that UTI's can only be caught by men during sexual intercourse with an infected female. I know that's not true but most people will assume a tv show does their research.
