Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I told my boyfriend of three years that I wanted to get married and have a child within the next five years. He responded by packing up my things and showing me the door. FML
Today, my boyfriend brought up the time he said he'd love me until the day he died. He continued by saying, "So, let's just pretend I died today." FML
Too much pressure
Today, I told my boyfriend of two years that I wanted to get married eventually, and there's no way to talk me out of it. He broke up with me immediately. FML
Today, my boyfriend proposed to me during a funeral. FML
Today, my boyfriend told me he doesn't think he should marry me, because I have kids. They're his kids. FML
Is this Brexit?
Today, in the same sentence, my boyfriend told me that he wanted to "spend the rest of his life with me," and "I want to break up with you because I can't face your family." FML
Today, my boyfriend proposed. I was about to call my parents and tell them we're getting married, but they called me first to announce they're getting a divorce. FML
Today, my boyfriend proposed. Three hours later, he called me to tell me he was kidding. FML
Today, my boyfriend of two years proposed to me. Less than two minutes later, he decided he wasn't ready for the commitment. After I had already said yes. FML
Can't be bothered, TBH
Today, I found out that the man I just married doesn't want to have children. We had this conversation multiple times with no problems before getting married, but now he would "rather die" than have children, because according to him, they would ruin his life. FML

So he basically told you the same thing twice... "I want to get married and have kids" means "I want to experience death".

Wanting to know what death is like isn't the same as wanting to die necessarily. I'm curious, but I'm planning to wait to find out

Did you say no? That might be why.

You didn't tell him he could kill two birds. Some people regard marriage to be like death.

First marry him, get a life insurance policy and then tell him to go have fun.

Original poster here, I can't believe this got posted! So my boyfriend and I have been together for what's coming up to 6 years, but he's always been very shy and reserved when talking about his feeling or futue. Hence him saying he wanted to marry me and have my babies was a big deal. A few years ago he struggled with depression, but he now swears he has it undercontrol. I guess it was just a bit bittersweet, hearing something you've been waiting 6 years for, and then being reminded that it's probably not ever going to happen. His mental health comes first.
