Today, my boyfriend proposed. Two hours later I get a text from my ex announcing he has just been diagnosed with chlamydia. I now have to explain this to my fiancé. FML

Today, I was talking to my situationship when he dropped the bomb that he wanted to break up, and that he'd tested positive for chlamydia. FML
Today, I got a text from a guy I hooked up with once before my current boyfriend. The guy told me he has chlamydia, and I should probably get tested. I had to call my boyfriend to explain what happened and tell him to get tested. I'm meeting his family this weekend at his sister's wedding. FML
Today, my birthday, was going great until my boyfriend received a text from a girl saying he gave her chlamydia. Now I have no boyfriend, but at least I have the chlamydia keeping me company. FML
Today, I found out that my boyfriend cheated on me by testing myself for STIs/STDs and got a positive result for chlamydia. FML
Today, at my physical, I found out that my ex-boyfriend who broke up with me 4 months ago was not only cheating on me, but had also manage to catch chlamydia and give it to me. I'm now dating someone else, so I had to explain that I've had chlamydia for 4 months without knowing, and he should probably get tested. FML
Today, while with my new boyfriend, my ex called to tell me I needed to go to the doctor to get checked out. He had gotten an STD from the girl he cheated on me with. FML
Today, I confessed my feelings to the guy I've been seeing. He confessed that he gave me chlamydia. FML
Today, my Christmas present from my boyfriend was chlamydia. FML
Today, I broke up with my boyfriend. I also found out I have an STD. I was clean before we dated. FML
Today, while having sex with my boyfriend, my phone rang. We continued to have sex while I took the call. It was my gyno calling to tell me that I tested positive for chlamydia and that I needed to tell my partner. Yeah, sex ended real quick. FML

Where you intimate with your ex without using condoms, regardless of when? If so, you should have gotten tested before having unprotected sex with your fiancé, it's common sense. Not only does it prevent the spread of disease, but it's good for you. Chlamydia can do damage to your reproductive organs if left untreated. ydi for not getting tested after engaging in risky behavior.

Unless you cheated on your fiance, I don't see why you would be so worried about telling him. It sucks you didn't get tested in between partners though, but I'm sure it's understandable since a lot of people I know still haven't gotten tested a single time -.- Either way, you're putting his health at risk, so don't chicken out and be sure he & yourself gets tested!

Has anyone considered that maybe the ex heard about the engagement and was hung up about it (perhaps still having feelings for the OP or perhaps just a prick) and made up having the STD to waste the OP's time or freak them out and start conflict? Not saying it happened, but a possibility, yeah?

I'm kind of confused why everybody is putting YDI? the way OP posted this was that her ex texted her and said she has chlamydia and she has to tell her fiancée. I don't see a problem with that at all.. she never hinted off or said that she slept with her ex recently. if that's the case then she definitely deserves it. but it just sounds like she got chlamydia from her ex when she was with him and has to tell her fiancee..

It can be read a couple of ways. either she is still sleeping with said ex or its just embarrassing to bring up if she has it because its been a while
