Today, while preparing for our holiday, I realised I will have my period that week. My husband is now sulking because he thinks I’ll be so grumpy, I’ll ruin the holiday. I’ve had to talk him out of cancelling our flight twice. FML
Today, my boyfriend told me I was selfish for "choosing" to start my period on his day off from work. FML
Today, I called my boyfriend and invited him over to watch a movie. He was all for it, until I mentioned I was on my period, at which point he said "NOPE." and hung up on me. FML
Today, my boyfriend clearly stated that I was "useless" when on my period. FML
Today, I was having the worst period cramps you could ever imagine. I cancelled the date I had with my "boyfriend." He replied, “Isn’t there some medicine you can take to make it go away?” When I told him I did and still had them, he said, “Fine, lose my number, I’ll find a girl who doesn’t have that shit.” FML
Today, I told my boyfriend I wouldn't be able to get any time off work to go to Mexico with him, and that we'd have to get our tickets refunded, and reschedule. He said not to bother, and that he already had someone else in mind to take with him. FML
Today, I asked my boyfriend to spend the night at my house because my dad would be working out of town, and once the rest of the house left I thought it'd be sweet if he snuck in my room and slept with me. His reply was, "Why bother? You're on your period, it's not like we can do anything." FML
Today, my boyfriend is threatening to dump me if I don’t give him all the details of my menstruation so he can track my periods with an app on his phone. FML
Today, my husband put on a nice suit and asked me out to dinner. When he found out I was on my period, he decided to stay home instead, since there was "no point" anymore. FML
Today, my girlfriend tried to justify having a one night stand with some other guy, with the words, "I'm on my period, okay?!" She acted like I was crazy when I asked how the fuck that made any sense. FML

He should have just changed the destination instead of canceling the whole thing. In those circumstances, you two should have gone to the Red Sea.

Well in his defence, presumably he doesn't enjoy her having periods because SHE doesn't enjoy them. I'm not saying he's considering her feelings, but presumably she's cranky, upset and not up for sex or drinking during her period, so why pay to be miserable on your holiday?

Before I went on birth control, being on my period was a nightmare. My cramps were terrible and quite painful. If you're anything like I was, you probably shouldn't go. Try rescheduling?

I went through the exact same thing. I love the fact that I can rearrange my pills to delay my period as well. But if OP hasn't been on the pill for at least a couple months, she can't really do anything other than work around her period. Canceling the trip was kind of a dick move on the boyfriends part, though if she's not on the pill, she probably would've been pretty miserable on the trip.

His argument should have been, "if the woman ain't happy, ain't nobody happy." Therefore it wouldn't have been a real vacation and rescheduling is the right move here.

Agreed! 90% of a couples vacation is based on hot, wild out-of-country sex. What's the point of spending all that time and money if you can't enjoy it right.
