Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, my boyfriend cancelled our vacation plans because I'll be on my period, arguing that, "It wouldn't be a real holiday." FML
Today, I was asking my husband to help me finalize plans for our upcoming vacation. He, however, would rather pout and sulk because I don’t want him to bring his mom along. She’s been with us on our last few trips and it’s hard to get any alone time. I’m considering just going alone at this point. FML
Today, for my husband's birthday next weekend, I booked a holiday which he was happy about… until I told him it was a surprise family holiday so I'd invited his kids and their families. Now he doesn’t want to go and has made up a fake work emergency. He’s a bus driver. FML
Today, I found out that my 2 week Christmas vacation my boss was talking about wasn't for this year, but 2010. I spent the day with my husband cancelling flights to Florida, and explaning to my 8 year old why we were not going to Disney World. FML
Today, my boss tried to cancel my leave because he’s “taking a mental health break next week and really needs me in the office.” I’m getting married next week and going on a two-week, non-refundable honeymoon, but he needs a mental health break. I had to get HR involved. Snowflake lazy prick. FML
Today, I'm stressing over travel plans yet again. My wife wants to fly standby but the changes in our plans stress me out so much I would rather spend the money. FML
Today, my boyfriend gave me an ultimatum: either cancel my amazing work trip or stay with him. I chose the trip and he assured me he’d be gone by the time I got back. His issue? My boss thought it’d be cheaper to get an AirBnB instead of getting us all hotel rooms, and that men are also going. FML
Today, I had to spend a quite considerable chunk of my Saturday on the phone to my boss explaining that no, it is not reasonable or convenient for him to try and cancel my honeymoon leave, all because he messed up the schedules, and doesn’t want to upset the other girl in the office he fancies like mad. FML
Today, my boyfriend is pissed at me for giving everyone food poisoning right before the holiday and ruining the weekend. He’s the one that forced and berated me into using the nasty expired ingredients in his mom’s kitchen, even though I knew better. FML
Today, I realized that without fail, even if I'm not supposed to get it, I get my period just in time for vacations. FML

In fairness to him, if this is normal for you to have mood swings during periods, or feel down and makes you less of a person for couple of days then he is right to be worried. My periods bring my whole body down, I'm cramping and not feeling my best and can become really short with people. Whenever I plan holidays my first thought is to check the dates to make sure I won't have them. Last time I got them on holidays and I ended up overheated, moody and ruining everyone's holiday as they felt bad leaving me in hotel alone, and I wasn't able to go hiking or beach or a spa. Don't get me wrong I actually encourage them to go and have fun, but if the holiday purpose was to spend quality time together (non sexual) then it is a huge let down. And it isn't even selfish as my man is feeling useless when I'm in pain and on bedrest for days, so he would talk me out of holidays at that time, one because he knows he can't make me feel better but two because he would be alone on holidays doing stuff. I would discuss it with him openly and see how do you normally react to periods, some of us don't see it from the side. Also if this is the reason he is sulking then there has to be some sort of bad experience with you on your period. Here's to hormones and being a woman.

Does he have a reason for thinking so, though? If you being grumpy on your period (ETA: and so grumpy as to make someone else miserable) is a pattern he’s noticed in you specifically rather than a broad assumption he’s making, then he’s allowed to be upset at the unfortunate timing.

Bring your hash oil vape cartridges so you can be Dopey instead of Grumpy. Pro tip: Don't travel to Russia.

Should have planned around your period! But in all seriousness, he's probably just mad because you likely won't be having sex on holiday.

don’t think that’s the reason he’s worried about on vacation 😂
