Today, my bag got stolen with all of my belongings at the beach. After being forced to ask strangers for money, I then travelled home on the train for an hour, wearing only a bikini. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I arrived at the airport only to find my suitcase was lost and my 3 weeks worth of clothes and supplies gone. All I had left was my wallet and carry ons. Upon leaving the airport I was mugged. FML
Today, I was at the beach. I'd recently decided to try the "life hack" where you empty out a bottle of lotion and hide small valuables in it, to avoid them being stolen. I'd put the bottle in my bag. Instead of stealing stuff from inside it, though, someone just stole the whole bag. FML
Today, I fell asleep with my luggage at a bus terminal. Upon waking up, I found that someone had opened my bags and stolen all my socks. FML
Today, I went to retrieve my stolen wallet from a train station. After I collected it, I returned to the place where I'd parked my bike, only to find that my bike had been stolen. FML
Today, I spent my entire paycheck on a new summer wardrobe. I then left my shopping bags on the train. FML
Today, my only pair of shoes that I brought got stolen at the airport while I was being checked by security. I'm now stuck 1000 miles from home with no shoes. FML
Today, I was swimming in the ocean with my best friend and a giant wave came and knocked off the bottom of my bikini. My friend told me that she would go get another bottom so I could walk onto the very crowded beach. She left me for half an hour, laughing from the shore with her entire family. FML
Today, at the beach, my boyfriend picked me up and carried me over his shoulder. I felt my bikini top come undone in the process. I panicked and pulled down on his shorts. We were fined for indecent exposure. FML
Today, my bag, including phone, money, keys and cards, was stolen. In a church. During my wedding. FML
Today, I fell asleep listening to my music and tanning at the beach. Not only did I wake up with a sunburn, but my iPhone had been stolen. FML

My mother told me that she once had to walk home topless from the beach when her friend accidentally took all of her clothes.

That's a nightmare. Yikes. At least people were kind enough to give you money for the train ride home.

Of course not. But I do go to this place called school where they teach American history. The 60's had way more rebellious acts than my generation. They had festivals for free sex, free drugs and free medical care.

Why wouldn't you just go to a store or house and ask them to use their phone? Seems much less complicated.

Aw don't worry. I'm sure people wouldn't have cared that much, I mean it is Australia. I guess it depends on where you are though and what the people are like in that area. I see people on trains in their swimmers all the time, it's pretty normal.

Not so much in Australia. I go to the beach all the time and leave my stuff with my towel while I go in the water. I also leave my door unlocked when I'm home and I'd definitely give train fare to a girl who'd had her wallet stolen. Of course there are bad apples everywhere, but we seem to be pretty free of them most of the time.
