Today, I went to my father for advice. I've been seeing a wonderful girl for the past month, and I feel terrible about it, because I already have a girlfriend. He said "Kill yourself" and that if I "can't even do that right" then to get out of his house, because he disowns me. FML

Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my dad. I thought it was a good idea at the time, at least until he took her aside for a private chat. During the chat, he told her all about my two previous marriages and advised her to "get out while you can". FML
Today, I asked my girlfriend's father if I could marry his daughter. He smiled, shook my hand, and said "No. Now get out of my house." FML
Today, I confided to my dad that since the recent breakup with my boyfriend of 3 months, I feel down all the time and life doesn't feel worth living anymore. His loving advice was for me to "grow the fuck up and get your sentimental head out of la-la land." FML
Today, I overheard my dickhead dad telling my girlfriend that she's too good for me, then asking if she really wants to settle for someone like me. FML
Today, my dad had a chat with my fiancé, telling him he can do better than me, and to think carefully before going through with our wedding. FML
Today, I found out why my dad doesn't want my girlfriend coming to our house anymore. Apparently, her dad used to bully him a lot during high school and he's never gotten over it. He's threatened to disown me if she comes back over here. FML
Today, I proposed to my girlfriend at a dinner with our two families. Not only did she flatly reject me, my dad said, "Good call. He's not ready." FML
Today, I heard my boyfriend talking with my father in the backyard. I thought he was asking for my hand in marriage. He was actually telling him about his plans to break up with me. FML
Today, my girlfriend of two years broke up with me because her father, who abandoned her before she was born and just reentered her life, doesn't approve. FML
Today, my girlfriend's father sent me a text message that simply stated "You ruined my relationship with my daughter." I wanted to ask him for his blessing to marry his daughter. FML

i have to say, your dad does have a right to be disappointed, but the way he went about it was all wrong. You should be honest with both girls and tell them how you're feeling about them. Never lie about seeing another girl, and about how you feel about someone else. It always works out better in the end when you're honest. They might both leave you, but at least you'll feel better about being honest.

Also to ANYONE that calls thid guy a cheater, how exactly has he cheated? How do you know that he didn't start hanging with pure intentions, and because he's a human he just started developing feelings for another human? He could have just wanted a friend and she just wanted a friend and as their platonic relationship grew and developed that their emotions shifted from feelings of "this is a good friend, I'm enjoying their company" to "wow... I really like this person. " Think before you speak about something you know nothing about.

Seeing doesn't mean shit to me. Action does. What was he doing when with her? Watching a movie? making out? No one knows except him. Seeing means nothing. Fu**ing does, making out does, but was he doing that? We don't know. You're being a bunch of assuming pricks.

Turn it around. If you're not happy with your girlfriend, end it. You shouldn't lead her on, it isn't fair. But if you aren't sure if you want to be with her, tell her that you've been seeing someone else. She deserves to know. And I'm sorry about.your father. But.like I said, turn it around. And the way you turn it around is doing the right thing. He'll forgive eventually, but you don't need to kill yourself. Things will work out eventually.
