Today, I went to my father for advice. I've been seeing a wonderful girl for the past month, and I feel terrible about it, because I already have a girlfriend. He said "Kill yourself" and that if I "can't even do that right" then to get out of his house, because he disowns me. FML

Today, I introduced my girlfriend to my dad. I thought it was a good idea at the time, at least until he took her aside for a private chat. During the chat, he told her all about my two previous marriages and advised her to "get out while you can". FML
Today, I asked my girlfriend's father if I could marry his daughter. He smiled, shook my hand, and said "No. Now get out of my house." FML
Today, I confided to my dad that since the recent breakup with my boyfriend of 3 months, I feel down all the time and life doesn't feel worth living anymore. His loving advice was for me to "grow the fuck up and get your sentimental head out of la-la land." FML
Today, I overheard my dickhead dad telling my girlfriend that she's too good for me, then asking if she really wants to settle for someone like me. FML
Today, my dad had a chat with my fiancé, telling him he can do better than me, and to think carefully before going through with our wedding. FML
Today, I found out why my dad doesn't want my girlfriend coming to our house anymore. Apparently, her dad used to bully him a lot during high school and he's never gotten over it. He's threatened to disown me if she comes back over here. FML
Today, I proposed to my girlfriend at a dinner with our two families. Not only did she flatly reject me, my dad said, "Good call. He's not ready." FML
Today, I heard my boyfriend talking with my father in the backyard. I thought he was asking for my hand in marriage. He was actually telling him about his plans to break up with me. FML
Today, my girlfriend of two years broke up with me because her father, who abandoned her before she was born and just reentered her life, doesn't approve. FML
Today, my girlfriend's father sent me a text message that simply stated "You ruined my relationship with my daughter." I wanted to ask him for his blessing to marry his daughter. FML

OP, if you're reading this, read the comments that have gotten buried. It seems like all the "burn in hell, cheater" ones get up voted, while anyone that actually cares about your plight or wants to offer help, those get buried.

Well he is not married, the reason we all date is to find the perfect match for us, he is in all his right to move on if he wants. Poor guy was just asking for advise.

Move on yes, date two people at the same time without each party knowing what is going on...no! Just because he is not married does not give him free range to date more than one person at a time without the other persons consent.

Everyone seems to assume that OP is a "cheating asshole" who "deserved this". First of all, it doesn't say that OP cheated on his girlfriend, just that he's seeing someone else.. This could just mean that they've been having lunch together or whatever. Not that they've been having sex. Also, OP feels really guilty about it and wants his dad's advice, because he doesn't know what to do. His dad could've been a lot more supportive. FYL OP, because your dad's an ass and these people assume you to be a terrible person while actually you might be trying to do the right thing. (If however, you have cheated, you're an asshole and I hate you)

Cheating doesn't just mean having sex. If you're going out with somebody you have romantic feelings for while you're dating somebody else, then you're cheating.

They both deserve better than you. Nobody wants to be cheated on or come second to anybody else. Trust me....both situations hurt. Leave them both and allow them to find someone who truly appreciates them because apparently you don't.

Wow, yeah cheating is horrible and what OP did was wrong, but encouraging OP to kill himself and disowning him is really harsh. OP just own up to those two girls and yeah you're probably going become single but at least you'll feel better because you were honest with them.
