Today, I went out to a nice restaurant for my friend's birthday. I went to the bathroom and heard the woman in the other stall crying. She couldn't pull her underwear up over her obese, old-lady ass because her arms don't reach that far anymore. I was the only one there. I had no choice. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was in a public bathroom with the runs when I noticed my stall didn't have any toilet paper. I was the only one in the bathroom, and I thought I could make it to the stall next to me and grab some with my pants down. I wasn't actually the only one in there. FML
Help!
Today, I was in a public toilet, enduring an extremely awkward silence between myself and the person in the next stall. In my rush to get out of there, I managed to get my ass stuck in the toilet seat, and ended up being pulled out by the maintenance men. FML
Today, I was waiting in line to use the bathroom. I complained to the guy next to me about how long the lady was taking. I kept making jokes about it, but he never seemed to laugh. Finally, the door opened and out came a lady in a wheelchair. The guy next to me was her husband. FML
Little shit
Today, I took my brother to the bathroom at a restaurant. The stall next to mine was locked, so I assumed he was still in there. I yelled his name a few times, then banged on the door out of annoyance. I gave up and returned to the table, where he was sitting with a grin. Turns out I just traumatized a poor lady in the stall. FML
Take a break
Today, I really had to take a shit. My coworker had gone on lunch break and I was alone in the shop. There were no customers, so to the can I went. Cue a long series of loud wet farts and splashes, followed by the flush. I emerged to see the horrified face of some old lady and her grandson who'd heard everything. FML
Pants down
Today, I was shopping in a mall when I needed to go to the bathroom. One of the toilets was out of order, so I went to the other toilet. After that, there was no toilet paper, so when I saw tissue in the sink, I left the stall with my pants down and someone saw me. FML
Weirdo
Today, I went to the bathroom in a mall. As I was in the stall, a woman tried to open it. I yelled out that's it was occupied but she kept shaking it to open it. It came up to the point where she had to crawl under the door to see that I was there. FML
Today, I really had to pee so I took the only stall that was available in the bathroom: the handicapped stall. A girl in a wheelchair came in seconds later and cursed at me for taking her designated spot. FML
Today, while in a public bathroom, I threw out my back. A stranger had to help me pull up my pants. FML
Mexican Standoff
Today, I had no choice but to use a public bathroom. I have issues going when there are others in the stalls, and apparently another person did as well. We both sat there in silence, waiting stubbornly for the other to give up and leave so we could go. It’s been 20 minutes. FML

GodfuckingDAMN. You know what, I bet not even a quarter of all the people on here going "U R SOO MEEEN :(" would have bothered to help this lady. 1. Obese is a MEDICAL term. 2. If she's too obese to reach down and pull up her panties, I doubt she can wash herself very thorougly. She probably smelled a little bit and/or was sweaty. This isn't "being mean," it's honestly a REALISTIC assumption to make. 3. She was old, and how many of you like seeing old people naked? Hmm? Ten bucks says all your pr0nz is of 20-somethings, and I doubt many of you would willingly invite the image of a naked elderly person into your brains. So you have a fat lady who most likely smells or is sweating and who is old and probably saggy to boot who needs someone to pull up her underwear. Again, I doubt even a quarter of you people bitching at OP would have bothered to help her, and for those of you that would have, I bet again ten bucks that you people would have been bitching about it to your friends afterwards. You've never been in this situation, you don't know how disgusting it can be. Instead of throwing out insults and trying to be all "heroic defenders of the outcasts!" or whatever the **** you're trying to be, shut the **** up and give some praise where praise is due. Most people, you included, would have walked out, but OP didn't. Cut her some ******* slack.

this makes no sense. at all. how did she get them down? does someone help her every single time she pees? i dont understand how your arms could be too short to reach unless she was morbidly obese. but i still think obese people can put on their own underwear...

This is revolting. Not the behavior of the OP, but rather the self righteous twaddle coming from many of the posters here. The act of help is overshadowed in the minds of many of the people here by the less than charitable words chosen to describe the incident. This is nauseating. The OP should be commended for behaving ethically, not chastised for being "rude" or acting "selfishly." Are we so ethically confused as to deride someone for doing the right thing but being miserable doing it? How in the hell does self-righteousness and a martyr complex help anyone but those sanctimonious few hew spew that nonsense? Let me put it another way: is the women from the story any worse off because the OP resented the fact that she felt morally obliged to help her? There is a binomial affect for the poor woman: either the OP helps her and it is uncomfortable, or the OP walks away, and she is miserable. Granted, it would be more characteristically consistent if the OP had just ignored her, but shouldn't she be commended for overcoming her animal dislikes and doing something good in general? Why would it have been better for anyone involved (save the OP) if she felt dandy helping the woman? Does that make the situation any less degrading for her, or less disgusting for the OP? The OP very much had a choice: that she didn't see it as such doesn't make her a bad person, but it means that she was raised with such a mind towards the ethical that any option other than helping her seemed inconceivable. That is the definition of being raised with a proper ethical grounding. That many here would be more comfortable with the OP if she had just ignored her--because it would be consistent with her condition--just shows the world that your ethics are disturbed and essentially, anti-life. That you value selflessness over charity says that you care not about the actual suffering of people, but rather the self-righteous posturing of those "in the right." The OP should be commended for her acts, not lectured by self-righteous putzes on the internet.

How is one behaving 'ethically' by pulling up someone's underwear, and then complaining about it? If you're going to complain, then don't even post the ******* shit. I have to deal with obese people in my life...so for someone to post something like this is just plain rude.

And besides...if everyone thinks she did the right thing...why the HELL is it even considered an FML?

FHL, not yours ; ) how is this a FML exactly? FYL for doing the honorable and decent thing maybe?

#86 is giving fat people a hard time, yet is for some reason sitting around, on the computer, trolling this website and responding to posts? Sounds like a lazy bum with no room to talk about "staying in shape." Some people can't help it. It was sweet of the OP to help the woman. I can't imagine her embarrassment, and shame, and just general depression. I'm sure you made her feel much better.

Stop being such an ass you complete ****. I hope one day when you're old you shit yourself, and someone has to help you clean it up. And I hope when it happens you remember that one time how disgusted you were about having to help an old person, and you realize the person helping you feels the same way.

@ Number 1, You can hardly say this person is nice by describing her as having 'An obese, old-lady ass'.
