Today, I went into labor and got my husband drive me to the hospital. Instead of staying by my side, he rushed back home for a World of Warcraft raid. His excuse? His friends were counting on him and they'd be pissed if he let them down. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I went into labor with my first child, and as much as I pleaded, I had to wait for my husband to finish his raid in World of Warcraft before he'd take me to the hospital. FML
Today, my boyfriend forgot to pick our son up from daycare. His excuse? Fighting in a battle in World of Warcraft was far more important and he had to stay absolutely focused. Our son had to wait for two hours. FML
Loyalty
Today, it was my two year anniversary with my boyfriend. As we were about to exchange gifts, he got a call and said he had to go home immediately. What was the emergency? His guild leader couldn't find another healer to finish a raid and promised my boyfriend gear if he would step up. FML
Today, I begged my husband to take me to the ER cause my stomach hurt so bad I thought I was gonna die. He told me to go sit on the toilet and stop being a drama queen. I drove myself to the hospital just in time for my appendix to burst. I almost died because my husband was busy playing Xbox. FML
Today, my fiancé nervously sat me down for a "serious chat". The chat wound up with him asking if we could postpone our wedding, because his World of Warcraft guild had a raid scheduled for the same day. FML
Game on
Today, I realized that my husband has a video games addiction. I am currently pregnant; he brought us to the same country he's in so we can finally live together, only for me to witness him being glued to his laptop all day and all night playing WoW. He's forgotten I even existed. FML
Today, my husband went in for surgery and handed me an important document. It wasn't a will or anything similar, but a list of items and gold he wanted passed on to guild members on World of Warcraft. FML
Let that sink in
Today, I was rushed to the hospital to deliver my child. On the way, I called my husband who was in a bar with his friends. Drunk, he just yelled, "BROS BEFORE HOS!!" and hung up. FML
Today, I had to explain to my son that his dad was too busy in a raid on World of Warcraft to be at his award ceremony. FML
Today, my husband was 45 minutes late to our wedding reception. Later, when I asked him why, he said, "I was playing Legend of Zelda and had to finish my quest." He thinks this is an eligible excuse. FML

Sounds like your baby needs a step dad

You can always have another kid. But that WoW raid will never happen again.

It is possible he freaked but that is no excuse here. He needed to be there for you.

Well that was your fault for being a drama queen and going into labor when there was a raid!

I can relate OP, when I was pregnant I became very sick and thought that I was going to lose the baby. My ex didn't come to the hospital because he was busy playing poker and thought I was pretending to be ill for attention.

Oh my gosh that is awful!!! What an awful experience.

I hope you didn't lose the baby :( Really sorry that happened to you. I can see why he's your ex. What a douche.

No, baby was fine and is now 5 years old. Yes quite the douche. Very happy he is my ex.

66, your ex is now officially a member of the "people hated on FML" list :) Very glad you and your little one pulled through. And GOOD for you for ridding yourself of the asshole!!!!

Sweetie, I think it's time for you to give him a reality boost upgrade. If he can skip out on something as important as the birth of your child, imagine how he's gonna be as a dad. I would definitely consider a separation &/or divorce.

He'd just continue to play his little game and probably not even notice her being gone.

Priorities and comradeship... These will be the values he'll instil into your child; never abandon your raid.

The needs of the many (guildmates) have outweighed the needs of his wife... Numerically, that makes sense.

A raid is probably considerably shorter than labor. Did he make it back for the birth?

Nothing like marrying the wrong person. Good luck.

He needs to get his priorities straight! One day he will look back on this event and really regret that he chose a game over watching his child enter the world and being there to support the one he loves go through all sorts of physical pain. Seems like right now he loves his game more than you...this makes me sad. :(
