Today, I was at work, photographing a baby boy. I grabbed a bench for him to use to hold himself upright. His mom asked if she should hold him instead, but I told her he'd be fine. Two seconds later, he fell backwards and brought the bench down on top of him. There goes my job. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
OK Shaggy
Today, my coworker brought her 3-year-old son to work with her. When introducing him to me, she dropped her bag and bent over to pick it up, knocking him over with her butt in the process. When she stood up, she noticed he was sitting on the ground crying. She then accused me of pushing him over. FML
Not now!
Today, I went to see my banker. As we were finishing everything up, I leaned forward to sign something. As I went back to sit down, my two year-old pulled the chair out from under me, and I crashed down to the floor. FML
Wobbly
Today, I tripped getting on an escalator and instinctively grabbed the nearest person to steady myself. That person was a toddler. The mom screamed, I fell anyway, and the toddler just stared at me like I’d ruined his whole week. FML
No soup for you
Today, I was bringing a table a bowl of soup at my waitressing job. A new customer taking off his coat threw his elbow out, violently knocking the soup out of my hands and onto his baby in a highchair. The baby screamed; I had a panic attack. FML
Today, I was at work, when a co-worker began to shake a near empty box. Without thinking, I shouted "What if there was a baby in there? You just killed it!" I then remembered she recently suffered a miscarriage. FML
ARE YOU ******* SORRY?
Today, I was at the park with my friends. We were all having fun on the swings, when out of nowhere I heard a thud, followed by a child crying. Turns out I accidentally kicked him in the head. FML
Influencer is a dangerous job
Today, I was taking a selfie in a café because the lighting was perfect. As I leaned back for the perfect angle, my chair tipped over, and I fell to the ground in front of a bunch of people. The barista was so concerned, he came over with a first aid kit, while I just wanted to disappear. FML
Nervous
Today, at work, we were gathered to be told some bad news. One of our colleagues would be taking indefinite leave because his wife had dropped their newborn baby. I accidentally laughed at the image. FML
Today, I was babysitting my co-worker's son. He was eating Jell-o and spilled it on his top, so I pulled off his PJ's, and went in his room to grab a new pair. I heard a thunk and ran to find him out cold on the floor. His parents walked in on me trying to wake up their naked 3 year-old. FML
Today, I tripped over a kid at work. She was sitting on the floor with her legs sticking out into the walkway. Her mom caused a scene, accusing me of doing it on purpose. FML

You obviously don't know anything about kids, and gravity.

Well if he was a fairly new baby you shouldnt have expected him to be able to hold his own weight up

Did the mom pay you with gum?

All pre-chewed of course; to decrease the value

Despite what you said mom should have known her baby well enough to know he was not able to stand holding something. some babies are advanced , some on more of a normal or delayed curve for milestones. Only the parents or someone around them all the time knows what they can do. Mom should have spoke up. Fyl and f the babies life for having a mom be dumb enough to take a strangers word on what her baby is capable of doing.

Before anyone says mom asked about it so she tried, she also backed down when he said she will be ok which she should not have done since she obviously had her doubts her child could hold himself up.

Thank you.

You might be right, BUT from the way this is worded I think the baby could hold himself up as long as he was supported by something sturdy (my kid is at this exact stage now). The Mom may have been thinking more about the sturdiness of the bench, which was obviously lacking in this case, and not so much been asking "will my baby fall over?" (cos she would know if thats a yes or no), but rather, "will that bench hold up?" which is kind of OP's job to know, especially if they plan on propping other people's babies on it.

You obviously should listen to the mother. I can't believe how incredibly rude and stupid you are to have thought it would be ok to say that!

I didn't find anything rude or stupid about what OP said.

Did no one notice that the second sentence makes no sense? I think it needs an "on".

It makes sense to me.

You really deserved this one. You have no idea how well the child does at holding himself up, and if his mother showed concern, then you shouldn't have blown it off that way.
kiraleann 16
The mother isn't completely blameless, either, as mentioned in an above comment. If she didn't think her son could hold himself up, she should have insisted on holding him anyway.

It's not her fault I have a baby and they like to unbalance themselves for no reason but if he was that unbalanced then it was her faut
whosindahouse 9
How do babies unbalance themselves? You need to use periods. The last word in that sentence is fault. And it is also not fully op's fault. The mother backed down in the end.
eccentrix 12
It's not for no reason, they're teaching themselves to balance.

I thumbed you up by mistake, 40. My bad

Your a terrible person. You should of just let the mother hold her child. Your going to be a terrible parent.
momolee 4
Terrible person and a terrible child! It was just an accident that happens a lot to babies that are trying to learn standing up. You make it sound as if he pushed the baby in front of a moving truck.

*You're. *have. I also see a lack of correlation between OP being a bad parent due to a baby accidentally falling down. If he was truly hurt, I doubt OP would've posted this on FML.

If I was that mom I probably would have beat your ass with that bench.
