Today, I realized that the closest thing I have to a savings account is the cup on my dresser with coins in it. I counted it, $17.34. That is my savings. I'm 28. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I’m starting my 28th year with 28 cents on my bank account. FML
Today, I realized that my 5 year old son has more money saved up in his piggy bank than I have in my actual bank account. FML
Today, I found out that my parents are 28,000 dollars in debt and that my bank account has $27.17 in it. They took my money to help pay their debt. FML
In the red
Today, I did the math: if I wiped out my savings account, the joint account I have with my husband, as well as the savings accounts I started for nieces and nephews to pay for student loans, I would only owe $41,000 more. FML
Waiting for that trickle down
Today, I looked at my bank balance. It read $1.23. That's higher than it usually is. FML
Thievery
Today, I checked my bank account that I've been saving money in since I was a kid for college. I have $100 left out of the $10,000 I had last month. Apparently my parents thought buying a pool and an HDTV for themselves was more important than my college education. FML
Today, I'm so poor that I've been scrounging around my house all day trying to find quarters and dimes so that I can buy myself a cup of coffee tomorrow. FML
Today, my dad came home from Vegas. Today, my college savings account is down by $64,000. FML
Today, a little girl I give horse-riding lessons to told me she had saved up $8.00 for her own pony. I laughed and thought how cute she was, then realized that was more than I have in my own savings account. FML
Today, I told my mom I had 73 cents in my checking account. She gave me a penny and told me I had 74 cents and it was even now. Thanks mom. FML

Everyone should stop posting how much money they have now. It's really annoying and no one cares.

Everyone has said what needs to be said, for the most part. You know what needs to be done so keep your head up. It's time for you to get serious, so I would suggest setting a goal for yourself and I wish you the best with that!

You need better planning on your funds. I do a stock purchase plan with my current company at 20% of my paycheck. When I buy it I get a %15 discount on it. No matter what I really can't lose money unless my company goes under. I also put 6% (4.25% - company match) of my paycheck into my 401k. Don't need to do as much as I do, but it helps!

103 how much do u pay in rent? And who do you live with?
kristina3514 0
I'm asking because... Let's say u make $10 an hour(above min wage). You work 12 hours a week. That's $120 a week and 480 a month and that's without taxes (maybe even without medical benefits taken out). 480 (being generous) is not enough for all the bills u listed. Unless you live with mommy and daddy and get a deal like 100-200 a month for being a student, or you live in a 1 bd rm apartment with. 19 other people. Plus all the utilities. So either your getting some sort of other income coming, your not actually living in normal living conditions, or your full of shit. Either way how bout you go out into the real world and get a clue

Not going to say get a job since you probably already have one. But you do obviously have internet access which normally costs $40-$50 a month. If you are this broke, consider canceling your internet and saving that money. After all food, water, and shelter are more important than chatting with your friends online and posting FML stories.

I agree with some of the other posters saying maybe he does have a job. Times are tough, and many of my friends are laid off and can't find work anywhere. When you have to pay bills and don't have an awesome secure job, saving ain't so easy. Take a look from another perspective every once in awhile.

And you didnt realize this before when you were dirt broke? If you're broke because you're lazy and refuse to get a job then YDI but if you're low on cash because of the terrible economy or personal problems, then I'm very sorry and yes indeed your life is f***ed.
