Today, I overheard a "friend" talking about me and my recently deceased dog. He said: "Only time I've seen someone get that upset over someone dying, they were fucking each other. Just sayin'." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Unrequited callousness
Today, I heard that my crush’s dog had died. For some reason, my first instinct when I saw him was to say, “Oh my god, I heard that your dog died!” He started crying. FML
Today, I overheard my girlfriend telling her friend, "Actually, it's a good thing she died, she was quite a bitch." She was talking about my mother. FML
Today, my 12 year-old dog died. My boyfriend's attempts to comfort me involved him muttering, "At least she knows how to play dead now." FML
Today, I heard my asshole neighbor had died of a stroke. I was outside and said, "Well it's about goddamn time!" I turned around to see his wife walking her dog and staring deep into my soul. FML
Today, while I was at work, I was on the verge of tears. My coworker asked what was wrong and I explained that I recently had to put my dog down. He then replied, "Cool story, bro. Tell it again." FML
RIP
Today, I made the mistake of telling my dentist that my dog died. She spent the next half-hour talking about her pets and how they died. I ended up crying in her dentist's chair. FML
Today, I went over to a guy's house for dinner. He ended up getting really drunk and started crying, telling me that I reminded him of his dead ferret. Distraught, he tearfully showed me her ashes. FML

Today, I was interviewing a potential candidate for a job opportunity. He started the conversation by saying that he was having a weird day because his friend just got married. To which I responded, “Oh, fun!” He'd actually said that his friend got murdered. FML
Rumours
Today, I learned my ex-girlfriend has been going around to all of my friends and telling them that I wanted to fuck dead people. No wonder nobody has been talking to me for the past 3 months. FML
Today, I discovered that my boyfriend has been having an intimate text exchange with a woman. She's the grieving widow of his friend who died three weeks ago. FML

What an asshole, dogs and pets in general are basically best friends to the owners so I would be surprised if someone didn't get upset over theirs dying

So your friend just happened to have a story about somebody whose little death turned into the big one, and they were complaining about you grieving for your dog?! Man, they missed an opportunity for a much more interesting conversation! Good riddance.

#3 He wasn't talking about someone who died *******. He was implying that if OP was grieving so much he must have been ******* his dog. Catch up.

I assure you I wasn't joking. I'm a very serious person. Especially on humorous websites.

It's hard losing a dog. I've lost dogs that I had for ages and dogs I had for a mere week (the poor pup got into some rat poison that we didn't think she could reach and it killed her because she was still a small puppy) and they all hurt so bad because most people's dogs are so important to them because they are like family. I'm so sorry for your loss OP.

According to that idiot's logic, you must be ******* if you're upset at losing a family member.

Sorry for your loss, OP. I almost feel even sorrier for your "friend." He's obviously never know the love and bonds between a pet and their owner.

I'm sure I can speak on behalf of the community (dog lovers) when I say that's a terrible thing for them to say. Sorry to hear OP

well if someone doesn't know how it's like to deal with someone's death, they shouldn't "Just say".

It doesn't matter who or what you are grieving over, it's nobody's business how long it takes you to cope. I'm very sorry for your loss OP. :(

Not much of a friend, especially when you're grieving. It doesn't matter if it was 'just' a dog, loss is loss. Losing a pet can be like losing a piece of yourself too, and I'm sorry your 'friend' doesn't understand that. Take some time to yourself, celebrate the experiences you and your doggy shared and take it easy for a while! It hurts so bad at first, but it does get better. Best wishes to you!

It is well known that insults, slanders, gossips and slurs mostly reflect the deepest darkest fantasies inside the mind of the person who utters them . Just saying.

Did just just call him a friend? I hope you meant he WAS your friend? Noone that says these kinds of things is a true friend OP, you deserve better.

#13 No, he didn't. That's what the inverted commas on "friend" were for, to say the person is supposed to be his friend, but isn't.
