Today, I needed to borrow money from my girlfriend. I went into her bag and pulled out the money all while a lady watched me open-mouthed. Turns out it wasn't my girlfriend's bag. It belonged to the lady watching me. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, while at the mall, a lady dropped her credit card while in line to buy something. I came over, picked it up and gave it to her just for her to shove it in my hand and scream, "She's stealing my wallet! My wallet!" The police came. FML
Today, I needed money to go to the movie. I asked my mom if I could reach in her purse and grab a few bucks. When I opened up her purse her phone started to vibrate. I yelled over to my mom that her phone was ringing. She said the phone was next to her. I looked in the purse. It was a vibrator. FML
Today, I finally worked up the nerve to talk to the girl I like. After awkwardly saying hi, I manage to work up a nice conversation with her. I thought everything was going well, until I got home and realized that she had stolen money out of my wallet. FML
Today, I slipped money into my mother's purse after she refused to let me pay for lunch. She caught me in the act and thought I was stealing money from her instead. FML
Today, I found out that my girlfriend has been paying her half of the rent by taking my ATM card and getting money from my account. FML
Today, at work, an old lady came through my line to buy some groceries. She told me she lost her purse and was a little short. It was busy, so I pulled out my little purse and gave her the money she needed. A few minutes later she returned with my boss, insisting that my purse was hers. FML
Today, I was talking to my mom about my issues with my girlfriend. While she was sympathizing, she slowly picked up my wallet, took $100 and left. FML
Today, I was standing in the gas station, pulling out my wallet to pay the $100 of gas I just filled my car with. I opened my wallet and found a note saying "borrowed money for food". FML
Cash
Today, I was at work when a customer, who was going to pay for her groceries, started sorting through her money. She put some coins in her mouth, seemed to suck on them for a while, and then gave them to me. FML
Today, I was at a restaurant with a girl I like, and as I was getting my wallet out, I dropped a condom. She didn't see anything, and I didn't dare pick it up in case I drew attention to the "object". The waiter walked past, picked up, and held it out to me with a huge grin. FML

I'm not sure if it's just the wording of this, but it sounds like the OP didn't ask their girlfriend for the money, in which case YDI. If it is just the wording, then FYL, and sorry for assuming anything else.

That's really stupid... Even if it was your girlfriends bag, you should ask anyone if you are borrowing money.

because running away after taking someones money is the perfect way to explain what's going on

Couldn't you have asked her to take the money from the purse? I can understand at home that she might just say "my purse is in the other room, you can get it yourself", but it's always better to let her handle it when you're in public to avoid this kind of thing... YDI

Funny everyone says to ask, I am going to guess that he probably did ask to borrow the money just went into the wrong bag after his lady agreed to lend the money. Personally though I'd be offended if a guy I'm with went into my purse, but I think it's really rude. If I am giving you money let me grab it from my own bag.

Bitch, how do you know if he was unemployed or not? He could have been just borrowing a few dollars for the tip. Stop jumping to conclusions.

Never mind the debate whether or not OP asked permission to borrow the money....this is a truly hilarious FML!

I say the woman kind of deserved it. The cardinal rules of being female and having a purse are: never let the thing out of your sight; never leave it where someone else can gain access to it; never put it somewhere where it is farther than arms length away. If she had it somewhere where you could easily gain access to it and not realize it was her purse, then it is her fault. Purses contain everything from money, IDs, checkbooks, and credit cards to tampons, makeup, and gum; we basically carry our entire lives in the damn things. A female should never ever leave her purse somewhere unattended! It is the woman's fault for leaving it where ever she did and for not saying, "Hey you! That's mine get out of it!" Also if you didn't ask your GF about getting the money and where her purse was, you are also at fault. I am not going to fault you for going into her purse like other people did. I think it just means you are in a trusting relationship. If you had been some ass that was just taking it from your GF without asking, I don't think you would have posted the FML; I doubt you would even care about it not being her purse. If my BF asked, I wouldn't care if he took money from my purse. I think the people that are hung up on that factor have trust issues.

Because she's a female and has a purse-- she deserves this?? Realize how ****** up your comment is. Think about it. It's the EXACT same logic as blaming a rape victim because she's wearing revealing clothes or something of that matter. "If she didn't wear that dress, she wouldn't have been raped". Of course someone should have their valuables with them, but acting like this woman deserved this is messed up.

he didn't say the lady deserved it for having a purse, but for leaving it lying around unattended.
