Today, while at the mall, a lady dropped her credit card while in line to buy something. I came over, picked it up and gave it to her just for her to shove it in my hand and scream, "She's stealing my wallet! My wallet!" The police came. FML

Today, I saw a woman drop her wallet in the grocery store. Being a good citizen, I sprinted after her to return it. She heard me running, panicked and took off. I ended up chasing her through three aisles saying, “Wait! I have your wallet!” Security got involved. FML
Today, I went to the store, but after I'd selected my items, I saw that I'd forgotten my wallet. When I tried to explain to the cashier, he thought that I was trying to steal and called the cops. My roommate had to come to the store to save me. FML
Today, I was walking down the street, when a little old lady bumped into me and fell over. I helped her up and she thanked me for being "such a nice young man". It was only an hour later as I was in line at the store that I realized she'd pickpocketed my wallet. FML
Today, while at work, a woman left her credit card at my register. I tried to return it before she left. Seeing her getting into her car, I jogged after her and yelled, "Wait." She ran over my foot. FML
Today, I had gone to the store and bought a new wallet. 5 minutes later a security guard asks for my receipt. Turns out I had dropped my receipt. Some guy had picked it up and pretended I had stole his wallet. The guard confiscated my wallet because the guy had "his" receipt to prove it. FML
Today, at work, an old lady came through my line to buy some groceries. She told me she lost her purse and was a little short. It was busy, so I pulled out my little purse and gave her the money she needed. A few minutes later she returned with my boss, insisting that my purse was hers. FML
Today, while bagging my groceries at a store, a lady came over to me, took a good look at the food I'd bought, picked out an item and put it in her bag. When I confronted her, she called security on me and told them I wanted to steal her stuff. I got thrown out and she walked away with a smirk. FML
Today, my aunt and I went shopping. When we got to the store, she said she forgot her wallet, and I told her I would buy some things for her. When we were at the checkout, I was a dollar short. She said, "Oh, I'll get it!" and pulled out her wallet. FML
Today, I went to the store to buy some groceries. Several hours later I realize that I can't find my wallet. After looking all over my house and then the store parking lot, I had my credit cards cancelled. On the drive home, I feel something under me. It was my wallet. FML
Today, after shopping alone at a grocery store, I was taking my groceries back to my car when a kid grabbed one of my bags and ran. Deciding not to risk leaving the rest of my groceries stranded, I didn't chase him. Later, I realized that was the bag my credit card was in. FML

This is a second FML post, within a week, where a good deed ends up as a punishment. It is so sad how our society has become. A simple "Thank you," from the CC holder should have happened; she should rejoice that there are still good people in the world.

What kind of thief gives back a credit card? That lady is clearly crazy. I can seethe interigation by the police, if the crazy lady controled them. Cop, "Now, explain this to me again, you criminal. What made you think you would get away with this horrible crime!" Op, " Uh, I thought I was being nice." Cop, "Thats not good enough. We are gonna have to give you another cavity search." OP, "Oh god, please not again! I swear I will never help a crazy lady ever again...."

Hey guys it's OP, I just made an account (I know kind of late). First off I had a witness standing by me when the police came, so there were no charges or anything serious. The police came and in fact gave her a warning. Once they left, she apologized but didn't sound to serious about it. The old lady probably just wanted to have fun, and I can't blame her! Hopefully she doesn't do this to other people, it was not fun to have police coming. For the people who said I should not have touched it, I guess you're right, but I just got caught up in the moment. Thanks for all the comments!
