Today, I hit a deer with a rental car... which I had to rent because I hit a deer with my car last week. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I bought a new car. Twenty-five minutes into driving it home, I hit a deer. FML
Bad timing
Today, as I was talking to my girlfriend about how I need to find another job to be able to afford school next fall, I hit a deer causing about $3,000 in damages to my car. FML
Today, I hit a deer. The worst part? Papa deer saw me hit mama deer, and proceded to ram into my car. FML
Today, after recently moving to America as I've always dreamt of, I saw my first, majestic deer. My boyfriend slammed it with the rental car. FML
Today, while driving home I saw a few deer running beside me. I stopped to let them go in front. Instead, one face-plants, ramming into the side of my new car. FML
It's all too much
Today, at 4:30 a.m., I hit a deer on the freeway on my way to work. I've only had this car for 6 months and it's totaled. I had to wait hours for a tow. On his way to pick me up, my husband's radiator blew and his serpentine belt shredded. I also missed a day of work. FML
Bastard Bambi busts bumper
Today, I volunteered to go get ice cream if I could use my mother's car. She told me to be VERY careful. Not ten minutes later, I hit a deer, which got up and walked off as though nothing had happened. FML
Slammed
Today, I crashed my car. I saw a deer getting ready to run into the middle of the road, and I was very sleepy, so I panicked and slammed on the brakes, causing me to lose control of the car on the wet road. After I hit a tree, I realized that the deer was a plastic lawn ornament. FML
At least…
Today, I was driving home from another long night shift at work. I live from paycheck to paycheck thanks to the current economy and can barely afford rent. To keep myself positive, I thought, "At least my car is paid off." A deer ran out in front of me and totaled my car. FML
Today, I got a rental car because my car needed new tires and I had a long drive ahead of me. Today, the rental car got a flat tire. FML

You people are seriously ignorant if you think the OP was "off the road, texting, bad driver, etc." I've got news for you. Bambi doesn't just stand there and wait for you to hit her. It happens when Bambi panics, doesn't know where to go, and just picks a direction and runs. The deer can be on the left shoulder, decide to bolt from you -back across the road-. And the majority of deer are hit on rural roads with woods on each side. Sometimes the just come barreling out of the woods and you hit them, no notice. And for that matter, a lot of the time, you don't hit the deer. The deer hits you! As in, plowed into the side of the car. Had that happen once. Then factor in stuff like what time of the year it is, "the rut", etc. It's not uncommon for me to see 3-5 deer on the way home everynight. That many deer, high chance of impact. So go back to ambushing people with red paint and quit trolling the OP

Not really, I have been hit by deer and they have never apologized. Plus a deer will run out in front of your car with no warning, Not that another animal will give you one ............. ..... Just sayin'

If you accidentally hit a deer with your car, are you allowed to take it's body and make Bambi burgers? Those things are delicious!(:

I actually think you can. didn't this happen in one of the Shiloh books?

in Alaska you are not allowed to harvest the moose. the troopers or local police call people on a volunteer list. these people cut and clean the remains. the meat is then given to shelters or even the encarcerated to feast upon. unless you are in a remote area and hit it with a snow machine (which may just piss off the moose)

Deer and moose are two different animals.

It depends on the state. Most southern states allow it, some only if it's the appropriate hunting season.

in Texas you can't. I'm sure if you're in bfe and you don't tell anyone you might be able to get away with it but even then transporting a deer with out the proper tags can land you with HUGE fines if you get caught. and who wants to waste a tag on something you hit with your car the meat gets all messed up from the impact and unless it's a monster buck it's not really worth the trouble.

I hope you weren't driving in the reindeer.

Drove is past tense, sweetie and I'm 14....

124 - ... I don't get where you are going here. Yes, "drove" is past tense; however, the statement should have used the word "driven," not "drove," because it is in the present perfect (have...driven), NOT the past tense. That is what #93 was referring to. And since we are apparently stating our ages, for the record, I am 21(?)

sweetie? I am 23 so don't call me sweetie. Thank you 29

WHAT!? There's no Santa? *sniffles* but... but... Who keeps bringing me *sniffles* coal every year? YOU RUINED EVERYTHING! I HATE YOU! *runs away sobbing*

What? no one said "As for me and grandpa, we believe". 33's comment reminded me of that "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" song. Santa is real. I get coal too. Boo-hoo.

I remember a story in the news about a deer ranch owner being impaled by one of his reindeer while he was dressed as Santa. It was mating season and "santa" was too close to the doe.

Ack! You know I was at the zoo once and I was told that only female reindeer have antlers for the winter. So unless Rudolph had very new-wave parents... They had children plug their ears for this explanation haha

Dude. Deer WRECK your car if you hit them. But then again 2 deer are dead.... So both OP and the deer community now have -2 points.

quit driving around in expensive meat tenderizers. drive a truck big enough that the deer bounce off. up here we hit moose. they're big enough to mess up anything smaller than an eighteen wheeler

down in Australia, we hit kangaroos. They don't just waltz out in front of your car, they jump and hit the f*cking windscreen! Not to mention emus...7 foot tall feather dusters with suicidal tendencies.
grandpaearthling 2
yeah that's the problem with the moose. they are huge. so when a car hits them it takes out the legs and then you have often over a thousand pounds flying through your windshield
