Today, I had to run a mile in gym class for fitness training. If it takes longer than 10 minutes to run the stretch, you have to re-take it. My time was 10:02. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Run home
Today, I ran the mile in gym class. I was the second to last person to finish, and I was left panting and feeling faint. When the teacher found out I hadn't come in dead last, he accused me of skipping a lap and is now making me rerun the entire thing. FML
Today, I had to run a timed mile. I'm terrible at running. During the run, I thought I was doing a good job. That is, until the teacher told me to stop because I was three laps behind everyone else. FML
Today, my entire gym class had to run the 1600 with our coach calling out finishing times. My finishing time was reported as "3 days short of a year." FML
Today, I had to rush to school to avoid being late. Unfortunately, I forgot to put a bra on beforehand, and as soon as I got to gym class, the first thing my teacher said was: "Okay folks, let's get outside, we're running the mile." FML
Today, I did a sprint in gym class. Despite being the skinniest in the class, I ran slower than everyone else, including two morbidly obese people. FML
Health is overrated
Today, trying to get into shape because I run out of breath after walking more than 30 minutes, I started to hit the gym. Too bad my legs didn’t want to cooperate and decided that it would cause limping-worthy pain for every step I took on the treadmill. FML
Today, I ran a mile for my gym class. While I managed to cut two minutes off my time, a few minutes later I felt dizzy and nauseous, which I thought was because I pushed myself too hard. I collapsed and vomited in front of everyone. Not a single person moved to help me. Not even the teacher. FML
Today, I had my first day of soccer tryouts. We began with a two mile run. Trying to be honest for once, I didn't lie about my time. Everyone else did. I thus got the worst score, and had to run it again. FML
Tyrannical
Today, I got to sports practice 30 seconds late and got kicked out for "poor time management". FML
Today, after the longest time, I went to the gym. I ran and ran and ran on the treadmill for an eternity, beating myself up for getting so overweight. Then I tripped and fell off, sweating and sobbing for being so useless. When I looked up, I saw I'd been on the machine for barely 2 minutes. FML

Don't worry. I have about the same time as you, but in distance, I have really good times. :D

Hmm. I'm actually offended by a good number of these comments. I have never been able to run a 10 minute mile. My best timed mile was about 12 minutes. Does that mean I was in bad shape? That same month I ran 8 miles across town with a backpack full of books to give my cousin. And if it matters, my knees were killing me, and swollen to the size of grapefruits after half a mile. I still only took one break, and that was just to re-fill my water bottle. How many miles can all of you run?

456, You are in a bad shape, and worse, stupid. You can walk a mile in 12 minutes. And running 8 miles without proper fitness basis, with heavy backpack, with swollen knees... That's senseless. And yes, no person in good shape would have swollen knees after running half a mile

You're thinking about it backwards. Try running a mile with swollen knees. It slows you down considerably. My knees have always swollen up when I run, since as far back as I can remember. It didn't used to hurt, but it was still slow. When I was about 12 or 13 pain started coming with the swelling. My pediatrician told me that it was all in my head, and that if I stopped thinking about it the swelling would stop. I was in pretty good shape, actually (i worked out doing other things as well). Just slow because my knees always hurt.

Ouch! I hate running! And it really isn't a good measure of your fitness... I skate roller derby but I can't run for shit.
