Today, I had to console my bawling 6-year-old son and explain that his sister was lying when she told him that when boys in our family turn 13, they turn into girls. I'm not sure who disappoints me more right now. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my 14-year-old daughter convinced my son that when he was born, he was actually born as a girl, but we wanted a boy so bad we had his gender changed. Now he wants to change back to a girl because now he doesn't feel right as a boy. Last year, she got her other brother to cross dress. FML
Today, I realized that the only boy who ever called me pretty was my 5-year-old brother. My sister then scolded him for lying. FML
They're indoctrinating our children… with pranks!
Today, my eight year-old son came to me and said he thinks it's time he started wearing bras. It turns out his older brother has been mindfucking him for the past several months and has him convinced it's something all boys his age do. I can't convince him otherwise. FML
This is what TERFs believe
Today, the kids got in a fight so my wife told our son boys shouldn’t hit girls, even if his sister is older and bigger. What happened next? He put on his sisters dress, claimed he’s a girl today, then hit his sister in the face with an iPad blacking her eye. I have no idea how to parent this. FML
Wise kid
Today, I had to give my four year-old daughter some tough love, which I hate doing. When she ran away crying, my son, her twin brother, looked at me and said, "You should be ashamed of yourself." FML
Today, my husband and I broke the news that I'm pregnant. Our 8-year-old son's reactions so far have been crying inconsolably, trying to punch me in the stomach, and swearing that he won't let me give him a brother or sister. FML
Today, I told my daughter that she's going to be a big sister, because there is a baby growing in my tummy. She's been sobbing because I can't convince her that I didn't eat a baby. FML
It is
Today, my fifteen year-old son decided to tell his little five year-old sister that Santa isn't real. She now refuses to talk to any of us and thinks "her whole life is a lie". FML
Today, my daughter told my son that Santa is not real. Of course, being a child, he started to cry. My only problem is, my son is 11 and my daughter is 6. FML
Today, my little sister asked me what she would look like when she got older. I told her that she would probably look a lot like me. She started to cry. FML

So does that mean I'm not going to turn into a man on my 30th birthday? So why do I have this mustache, then?

Maybe you shouldn't be concerned at all because he is just happy with his gender and doesn't want to change. Also, having a penis is so much fun! Who'd want to lose that?

No, no, tell him only BAD kids turn into girls. That'll get him

No, because that implies that being a girl is lesser, a bad thing and a punishment. He should not be encouraged to disrespect women.

I'm actually not sure if your comment is brilliant satire of those clueless, overreacting, socially-inept, desperate-to-take-offence-at-anything SJW crackpots, or whether you actually ARE one. Gotta love Poe's Law.

I mean, it's not some kind of subtext here. It's literally saying that being a woman is a punishment. It obviously wasn't intended to mean that though lol.

In this situation why would your son disappoint you he's young & that's what young kids do believe anything

This is amazing.

Save your disappointment for a time when they actually deserve it. Your son is only 6, which means he is young and gullible. Little kids often believe what their older siblings tell them, so there's no reason to be disappointed in him. As for your daughter, she's 13, which means she's immature and, like most children, enjoy teasing their younger siblings. Don't make everything into such a big deal, save it for stuff that actually IS a big deal. No one was injured, no one is in major trouble, and your son will get over this and laugh about it someday.

YDI for not knowing who disappoints you more. Why would your son crying make you disappointed? Pretty scary thinking that he'll become a girl.

Really? There is no reason why you should be "disappointed" in your young gullible 6yr old son. He is a kid. Your type of thinking is getting out of control. Sometimes people find things to be offended by.
