Today, my husband and I broke the news that I'm pregnant. Our 8-year-old son's reactions so far have been crying inconsolably, trying to punch me in the stomach, and swearing that he won't let me give him a brother or sister. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
The good son
Today, my husband and I sat our 8 year-old son down and gently explained to him that I had a miscarriage and he won't be having a little brother or sister after all. He responded by dancing around the room and celebrating. FML
Good news
Today, I told to my son that I'm pregnant. After I'd told him, he looked up and yelled, "Fuck this shit!" and walked out of the room. My son is nine years-old. FML
Bad timing?
Today, I found out that I'm pregnant. I buried my 8-year-old son two weeks ago and had my husband serve me divorce papers three days ago. FML
Today, on Maury…
Today, my husband of four years finally told me he has an eight-year-old son. FML
No refunds
Today, after my 4 year-old was so excited to be a big sister, hugging my belly every chance she got, counting down the days till the due date, my son was born this morning. She took one look at him and declared, “I don’t like him, leave him here, do we have to keep him?” then started crying. FML
Today, over a family dinner, my husband and I told everyone that I'm pregnant. My father frowned and said, "Again?", my 9-year-old daughter started crying, and her brother smirked and yelled, "Up the ass, no babies!" FML
Unexpected
Today, I excitedly told my husband that I'm expecting our second child. He ripped up the sonogram and yelled at me to "fucking get rid of it" while jabbing me in the chest. FML
Good news!
Today, I told my family I’m pregnant again. My boyfriend is now sat outside, crying and getting drunk. My oldest son is looking at apartments for rent because he doesn’t want to be around screaming babies again, and my younger two are crying because they don’t want another sibling either. FML
Today, we told my fiancé's parents that I'm pregnant. His mom's response? "I'm going to throw up. You can't raise a child." We are both 28, self-sufficient and everyone else is thrilled. FML

Today, my husband and I had a huge fight. I have a son from a previous relationship who he loves, but he wants more kids. My son is 9, almost 10, he's so used to being my baby that I can't bring myself to take that from him by having another baby. FML

My sister was very upset when we found out we were getting a younger sister too. It'll get better when he realizes you won't abandon him for the new kid.

Wow. I really hope you're not letting him off lightly for trying to punch you in the stomach, that's scary.

Thanks to the Internet, I've found out that a lot of kids react negatively to their mother being pregnant. My advice is to make sure your kid doesn't feel like you've abandoned them.

My parents show favorites. They yell at me all the time and my brother gets anything he wants, even when he's being a little shit

My brother is 13 and I still hate him more than anyone else I've ever come into contact with

When I was three I tried to run my sister over with a remote control car when she was on the floor.

My family thinks that I'm trying to suffocate my 3-month old baby brother. While everyone thinks I don't want a brother, here I am trying to convince them that I don't mind having a baby brother.

He'll change his mind when the baby comes. Congratulations though.

My older sister was not happy when I came along. My parents had to keep me away from her because she tried to smother me with a pillow and poke out my eyes! Evil!!!

Unless he turns out like that super freaky psychopathically challenged kid in one of the SVU episodes who hated his sister so much that he tries to burn the house down with her inside... Hope not OP :-)

Some people love being only children. I wish I was one. Very badly.

You need to be sensitive to his feelings OP but at the same time he is 8 years old and he should not be punching you in the stomach. Sit him down and calmly explain that you understand his feelings and that your love for him will not change when the baby comes, but then firmly explain that hitting is never ok and there will be consequences if he tries that again. 8 years old is old enough to know not to hit and to understand consequences. He may not like the idea of a sibling now but he will come around and in time he will love that sibling so much.

I was actually wishing for a little sister. Now that I have one, I strongly regret it.
