Today, I had planned to break up with my overbearing girlfriend. She went into complete denial mode, bought me a pair of oversized sunglasses and tomorrow we're going ice-skating. Kill me now. FML

Today, my girlfriend decided to break the news that she wanted us to be "just friends." However, she did it not in just any old way - while ice-skating. I'm currently in hospital getting stitches in my arm after I tripped in shock and she ran me over. FML

If you really don't have feelings different this person anymore you wouldn't have given in. simple logic you don't want to see her hurt. her being hurt is upsetting to you, hence why you caved. =still have feelings. island what it is that made you want to break up but a lot if people break you over idiotic things then regret it Cuz they still care for that person just something got in the way.. but I'd say it's something you can ivercone. everyone is bashing thus girl for not wanting to simply accept a breakup but why should she? it's called fighting for something you care about and that's a lot more valuable than throwing something away. on the other hand there are really psychos out there, but she doesn't sounds like one it sounds like OP caved and took it back because of her reaction. if OP wanted out he'd get out, and her non-acceptance of it would simply repel him more. instead it drew out his feelings whether he even realizes it he still cares for this person.

There's a big difference between not wanting to hurt a person and having feelings for them. And when one person stops loving the other or caring for the other as more than a friend, there's no use in continuing the relationship. This girl needs to accept that and stop living in a pipe dream. OP, if she doesn't get it the first time, simply don't go ice skating.

Maybe she's not aware you are wanting up break up with her. Don't blame her for your inability to communicate. Just break up with her if you want.

Sit her down and tell her you need a break. You need to reason with her and explain why you don't want to be together. Like "I don't like this" all these make me feel" "it drives me crazy" and it's ok. Not everybody is compatible. Try and make her feel good about herself. Like " someone will love those attributes and will embrace them". You need to rationalize with her. And put your foot down. She shows up to go skating, you say no I am not going and talk to her. If she goes crazy or won't leave you alone threaten a restraining order. If she still won't listen go get one. So put your foot down gently but firmly in calculated foot steps. Have a plan of action. No one should be forced to stay in a relationship. Good luck.
