Today, I got home late after a long day at work and all I wanted to do was take a shower and go to bed. As soon as the water in the shower was hot, I got in. One minute, I was standing and the next I was fast asleep at the bottom of the tub. I woke up with my face swollen and my shoulder bruised. FML

Today, I was in pain due to overdoing it at the gym yesterday, so I thought a hot shower might help. Not only was there no hot water because of my sister's hour long showers, but I slipped getting out and hit my head. Now the pain is worse. FML
Today, after having a pretty rough day, I decided a nice, hot shower would be great. Ten minutes in, the shower head apparently couldn't take the water pressure anymore, and it flew off and hit me in the face. FML
Today, as I showered, I sneezed, hit my face on the wall, got shampoo in my eyes, slipped on a bar of soap, bashed my head on the wall as I fell, grabbed at the walls to stop me from falling and happened to turn off the cold water, scorching me. FML
Today, I woke up in the shower at my coworker's house, with my clothes on and soaking wet. Apparently, the night before I drank too much and punched my best friend. The sad part is, I passed out on the couch, but somehow ended up in the shower, facing the wrong way. FML
Today, I was taking a shower for the first time in my new apartment. The shower head broke off the wall and slammed onto my head, while spraying water everywhere. I tried to stop the water, but only stopped the cold and got burnt by the hot. FML
Today, I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. I was there with the lights out when something ran across my foot. I freaked out, tried to kick it off, and ended up smashing my foot into the side of the tub. FML
Today, I fell in the shower and knocked myself out. When I came to I turned off the water and called my mom. She seemed more worried about the amount of water I "wasted" than she was about me. FML
Today, while in the shower, I heard my phone buzz. Expecting an important text, I leaned out to check it. I slipped, hit my head on the sink, and ended up stuck in the most awkward position possible with one leg in the shower and the other out. My roommate had to rescue me. FML
Today, I got up at 2:30 a.m. to catch an early flight home. I was tired and drowsy and took a quick shower to wake me up. Two minutes in, the water turned scalding hot on all settings. I ended up having to rinse my hair with bottles of sparkling water from the hotel minibar. FML
Today, I was very cold and tired, so I took a shower to warm up and went to bed. The minute I hopped into bed, it collapsed and broke. I have spent half-an-hour rearranging furniture to get the mattress on to the floor. Now I'm cold again. FML

Does op have low blood pressure? Sounds like op was on the verge of fainting before getting in the shower, then when under the hot water all her surface blood vessels dilated at once, pulling blood away from her brain causing her to faint and fall.

I once passed out in the shower woke up stood up and passed out again lol. I don't remember any of it besides getting in the shower but my mom said she had heard me fall twice. My chin was scraped and bruised but it turns out I was very dehydrated from being sick.

I've fallen asleep in the shower once when I was a kid. The doorbell rang in this one floor lodge we were staying in and when my mom came back I was fast asleep with my face practically face down on the drain. I was just that exhausted and the hot water was so comforting!! I've also almost fallen asleep when I was older due to those showers with the nice comfy seats in them. But I don't think that the OP necessarily has any health condition. Exhaustion can be pretty severe, they say that driving while being that tired is like driving drunk. although I can't understand the swelling unless it was just from the water continually pounding down on her face? DocBastard- any medical opinion here as to what probably went on? Did she pass out or fall asleep? Should she see a doctor about it? And what most likely caused the swelling, the fall, water, or something else??

Brandi, it sounds like she just fell asleep - literally. She probably bounced around as she fell, likely striking her shoulder and head, and probably knocked herself out in the process. I see a lot of people who fall and lose consciousness, so that's my best guess.

I don't doubt that that is what happened. a few months ago I was in the shower with the water nicely steaming and while washing my hair, I dozed off. I don't have a medical condition, I was just very tired. Op, that really sucks
