Today, I got a new babysitting job. Every time the little girl goes to the bathroom, she screams and cries until I wipe her. She's 7 years old. FML

Today, my mother stopped speaking to me because I won’t let her babysit anymore. Her idea of babysitting is to sit my daughter alone with a tablet and a pile of sugary junk food for 7 hours straight. FML
Today, I was at the mall with my young daughter. I hate pooping in public but I really had to go so I brought her in with me. Thinking we were alone, I started to go and my daughter yelled, "Good job Mommy, you're using the potty like a big girl!" I then heard laughing. FML
Today, I've been babysitting a 4 month-old for two days. This has made a great impression on my cat, because now I can't sit down without him jumping up and licking my face until I pat his butt and rock him like the baby. FML
Today, my mother told my boyfriend a cute story about me when I was little. The one where my cousin and I were caught pooping in a urinal in the church basement. FML
Today, I was babysitting a new child. I guess she heard me tell her parents about my severe peanut allergy because she got a jar out of the pantry, spread it all over the stairs leading to where her fort was, and walked around with a baseball bat covered in it so I couldn't come near her. FML
Today, I was with my 3 year-old son in the doctor's office. During the exam, he informed the doctor that he doesn't sleep in mommy's bed anymore because mommy sleeps in her underwear and farts all night long. FML
Today, my sister told me not to come over anymore because her baby is scared of my face. FML
Today, the couple with three noisy toddlers in the apartment above mine finally moved out. A couple with a non-stop crying newborn moved in. FML
Today, I saw a woman breastfeeding her child at the local park. That would have been just fine if the child wasn't at least 8 years-old. FML

At 7 I bet she wanted to see if she could make the babysitter wipe her ass. Shes 7 not 4. Kids can be manipulative. At 7 she is a 2nd or 3rd grader.

That sucks... sounds like the parents haven't bothered to teach her, just figured that she'd pick it up somehow. Some people are really weird about talking to their children about their private areas. I work in childcare and I always explain to the children when I change their nappy what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. Anyway... I would chat to the parents for sure, and next time the child screams and cries for you, I'd go to her and explain very calmly that you understand that she's frustrated, so instead of her having to call out to you all the time, you're going to tell her what she needs to do. But chat to the parents first... check that she's not just having you on for starters and then just go from there. Good luck OP!

The amount of people relating to this FML with personal stories is really concerning to me... this really shouldn't be a common parenting issue. I would hope by 4 maybe 5 at the very latest most kids would have been taught how to do this on their own. Obviously unless for a medical reason.

So... let her scream and cry herself hoarse until she gets the hint? The only rationalizing for that kind of infantile behavior is she's developmentally challenged, and even then, the it's on the parents to have said something about it. FYL.

I would have called the parents right away to question this situation. I worked with special needs children as young as 4 for a decade and I've never had to wipe an ass.

Don't wipe her, and tell her she can do it on her own. If she cries louder, turn up some music or wear noise canceling headphones.

Is wiping not a skill children learn before they go to school? Both of my nephews had wiping down pat by the age of 4.

Potty training is a required skill and at least I consider wiping to be a part of potty training.

you're not alone. I had a niece, 9 now and her parents and I wiped her down. they won't even try to let her do it herself, at all.. i fear for the little one
