Today, I got a new babysitting job. Every time the little girl goes to the bathroom, she screams and cries until I wipe her. She's 7 years old. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Slippery when wet
Today, I realized that my 3 year-old son, who is being potty trained, has better aim standing up to pee than his 30 year-old father. FML
Hard no
Today, my mother stopped speaking to me because I won’t let her babysit anymore. Her idea of babysitting is to sit my daughter alone with a tablet and a pile of sugary junk food for 7 hours straight. FML
Well done!
Today, I was at the mall with my young daughter. I hate pooping in public but I really had to go so I brought her in with me. Thinking we were alone, I started to go and my daughter yelled, "Good job Mommy, you're using the potty like a big girl!" I then heard laughing. FML
Quick learner
Today, I've been babysitting a 4 month-old for two days. This has made a great impression on my cat, because now I can't sit down without him jumping up and licking my face until I pat his butt and rock him like the baby. FML
Thanks for the info
Today, my mother told my boyfriend a cute story about me when I was little. The one where my cousin and I were caught pooping in a urinal in the church basement. FML
Demon child
Today, I was babysitting a new child. I guess she heard me tell her parents about my severe peanut allergy because she got a jar out of the pantry, spread it all over the stairs leading to where her fort was, and walked around with a baseball bat covered in it so I couldn't come near her. FML
Self report
Today, I was with my 3 year-old son in the doctor's office. During the exam, he informed the doctor that he doesn't sleep in mommy's bed anymore because mommy sleeps in her underwear and farts all night long. FML
Judgemental
Today, my sister told me not to come over anymore because her baby is scared of my face. FML
Welcome to the neighborhood
Today, the couple with three noisy toddlers in the apartment above mine finally moved out. A couple with a non-stop crying newborn moved in. FML
Mommy milk time
Today, I saw a woman breastfeeding her child at the local park. That would have been just fine if the child wasn't at least 8 years-old. FML

Her parents have obviously done a shitty job..

That's pretty inappropriate for that age. I would have called the parents and asked what was going on.

Her parents probably spoil her rotten and are extremely overprotective.

Overprotective parents are usually reluctant to leave the child, even with someone they trust.

My 5 year old step son is the same way. His mom doesn't want to clean undies or teach him to wipe so he won't cause he said his mom won't let him.

what? that's part of her job as a parent

She needs to parent up

Brown stained undies, sadly, are part of the learning process. But eventually the kids figure it out.

Or they don't because they are kids and don't care.

two words: Gross . Quit.

It's a kid. It's not that big a deal. Try doing what I do for a living, taking care of elderly people. Grown adults who need help not only wiping, but showering as well. Then come back and complain to me about how wiping a child's ass is "gross." Side note: I actually love my job for the most part. I'm just saying that compared to doing the same thing with adults, wiping a kid is hardly a big deal.

I want to know what she does when she's at school.

I'd let her scream and cry because I still wouldn't wipe her. I had a 6 year olds mother try to tell me to wipe her son, didn't happen. I made him do it by himself

Yeah, OP could try to just talk her through it. It takes a lot of patience, but might succeed where the parents failed.

We talked my niece through it when we would babysit her, and she stop asking someone to wipe her by the time she was 4.

Jesus, that's disgusting. Definitely have a talk with the parents...

I know it's not necessarily your job to teach her to do this, but lots of gentle encouragement and positive reinforcement will probably be the best action. Hopefully she'll grow out of it very soon!

very true^ plus since you're her babysitter you're likely with her for a good amount of time so you helping her as well would speed up the process a bit you just have to stand your ground. the sooner she learns both how to do it and that she can't scream and cry to get her way..the better

She should be doing that by herself by now. Her parents really should have taught her a long time ago.
sammiaaron 16
I'd let her scream and cry because 1. she should be doing that herself 2. I don't listen to people who scream at me

She's manipulating you and you are at high risk for a false molestation accusation. Talk to the parents. Tell her she's old enough to be performing her own personal hygiene while the parent are present. Never do this for her again.
