Today, I've been bedridden for the past two weeks. My boyfriend casually remarked that he understands now why some people cheat on their seriously-ill partners. Thanks for adding to the stress, sweetie. FML
Today, my boyfriend broke up with me because I'm "high maintenance." I'd only asked him to use deodorant and brush his teeth. He hasn't had a shower in over a week. FML
Today, I woke up feeling like shit after I had spent the whole night taking care of my sick boyfriend. He got up early, feeling great, bouncing around the house. When I finally got up I told him I didn't feel well and he yelled at me for being a bitch in the morning that slows him down. FML
Today, my boyfriend is blaming me for his recent diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder. Apparently, I should have just kept on tolerating all of his explosive outbursts, instead of "forcing" him to start couples' therapy with me. FML
Today, my boyfriend threw a fit because I "still" live with my mother at age 30. I bought her an apartment in my building and hired a live-in nurse because she is senile and permanently bedridden. FML
Today, my boyfriend broke up with me, because I'm too "high maintenance" during the holidays. Not to worry, though; he's willing give me another chance sometime after Valentine's day. FML
Today, I went to the hospital for constant dizziness and insomnia, and was diagnosed with anxiety. I figured out that the main source of my anxiety is not my job but my boyfriend, who has avoidant personality, which makes him constantly refuse almost everything that I request. He's a guy who just doesn't know how to show his love. FML
Today, I went to the hospital due to extreme sickness. My boyfriend saw this as an opportune time to take another girl out since I was "otherwise preoccupied." FML
Today, I told my boyfriend I had diabetes. He won't talk to me anymore because he thinks I'll infect him with it. FML
Today, I realized the only time my boyfriend actually makes a little bit of time to see me is when I'm having a full mental breakdown/anxiety attack. FML

I know exactly what you mean. I have two chronic illnesses and both tend to land me in the hospital quite a bit. My last boyfriend couldn't deal with the effects of the illnesses so he dumped me. Now I'm with a fantastic guy who cares so much about me that he offered to stay with me during an episode even though he would have been late for work. I told him to go, of course.

How does having a high maintenance problem problem mean you aren't high maintenance? *shrug* Whatever. FYL for having to deal with both your chronic issues and your old BF, but he has as much right to leave you as you do to find a boyfriend who can actually appreciate you. Shit happens. It's how we handle it that matters the most.

if this situation is anything like mine, then she really isn't all that high maintenance. The problem with having medical conditions is that you CANT HELP IT. There's not much you can do but accept that you may or may not have to go to the hospital on a given day. Unless she's forcing him to go to the hospital with her every time, she's not high maintenance. I go to the hospital frequently too, but I've only asked my boyfriend to take me twice on account of knowing for a fact that I would be receiving pain meds and wouldn't be allowed to leave on my own.
