Today, I've been bedridden for the past two weeks. My boyfriend casually remarked that he understands now why some people cheat on their seriously-ill partners. Thanks for adding to the stress, sweetie. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste

Today, I found out my boyfriend has been cheating on me for months. It all started while I was in the hospital, he says, because we were supposed to go out that day, but then I "had to go and get sick." He blames my emergency surgery for his infidelity. FML
Today, I found out my boyfriend thinks I'm too high maintenance because I have a chronic illness which requires frequent hospitalization. FML
Thanks for your support
Today, I've been bedridden for 2 weeks. My mother, a very busy woman who lives 30 minutes away, took me to the doctor's office, which is barely 2 minutes across town. Turns out I have strep, and a bad ear infection. My loving boyfriend of 6 years, who lives with me, just told me to take a hot shower and I'd feel better. FML
Today, I went to the hospital due to extreme sickness. My boyfriend saw this as an opportune time to take another girl out since I was "otherwise preoccupied." FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me. When I asked why, she replied with "You don't go out anymore. All you do is lay in bed." I've had the flu for the past week. FML
Today, I woke up feeling like shit after I had spent the whole night taking care of my sick boyfriend. He got up early, feeling great, bouncing around the house. When I finally got up I told him I didn't feel well and he yelled at me for being a bitch in the morning that slows him down. FML
Misery
Today, I found out my boyfriend is cheating on me. The worst part is I’m currently stuck in his house and can’t even deal with a fight right now. Why? Because I just had surgery this morning. FML
Do it yourself, dickwad
Today, I've been bedridden with the flu for two weeks. My boyfriend only got concerned because I haven't done any laundry, and was worried about what the girls at the coffee shop across from work would think if he turned up wearing the same clothes two days in a row. FML
One-way street
Today, I woke up feeling awful, having caught the same illness my boyfriend had last night. When he was sick, I skipped my friend's baby shower to take care of him. Now that I'm sick, he goes to a friend's place, says to call if I need him, then turns his phone off. Seriously. FML
Today, my boyfriend's bitch of a mother had surgery and now I'm expected to be her at-home nurse. I haven't been able to sit down for more than 5 minutes thanks to her and I've barely slept. FML

Later: Local man found severely injured outside his apartment, it looks as though he will be bedridden for weeks!

Idk. In his defense, he's being honest that he now understands why someone would do it. Also, there's no proof yet that he has cheated so its simply an observation on his part. If he has the willpower to not cheat despite understanding why someone else would do it I give him even more props.

True. But that's a topic that should and can be discussed during a good episode and not on top of a really bad one where you have enough stress with literally everything else.

It's not as though he's actually cheating on her. It was more of, he never used to understand why any one could cheat on a SO when they were really sick and now he understand what they might have been tempted by... Why FML gotta be all, dump the guy who's been by your side during these 2 sick weeks and probably for longer, just because of some small comment.
xlord 27
Anyone ever stop and think maybe he was just making a joke? The reason its an FML is because the joke still causes her anxiety?
Megan639 16
That's just ******* rude though. Think if you were sick and your girlfriend said that to you.

I wouldn't stress it if I were you. Now you know what kind of man you have by your side, and he's clearly not one worth keeping.

It's not just a small comment, that's no way to talk to your significant other if you actually care and have respect for them. I would have never said something like that to my man when I took care of him for a month due to a flu, especially since he's already sick, why make him feel worse. Cheating isn't something to make a joke out of and there's never an excuse to do it. If you are too weak that those thoughts cross your mind after just two weeks, then you have no business being in a relationship in the first place.!

If it were up to the FML community the divorce rate would be 90%. Of course it was an innapropriate joke but if I ever dated someone whose only flaw was to make a bad joke every now and then I would never let them go.

Can't believe how many people are saying dump him. No wonder relationships never last these days. Do people actually TALK to their partners anymore? Or is immediately dumping someone because they say something you don't like considered the normal thing to do nowadays?

"Today, my seriously-ill girlfriend had been bedridden for two weeks. I haven't had sex in all this time. FML" I can see that.

That guy probably doesn't even love you.

Well, thats a little harsh
Goldenberry_fml 14
It's probably true though, if he doesn't even sound guilty while telling her he cheated.
Nordrag 26
What the ****? Where does it say he cheated? Eh? He simply stated that he understands why some people would. He did nothing wrong as far as we the readers can tell.
Goldenberry_fml 14
29 - you're right, but it was still implied that he did. Why else would he even talk about it then?
RoboCunnilingus 23
Brain malfunctioning today?
Fmlano 16
It doesn't say he cheated, but come on, would you seriously say that to someone you loved, especially being in that condition? A similar situation would be me fighting with my mom and then saying: "I understand why some people kill their moms...". You just don't say those things. Maybe that's just me.

Toss his ass out the door.

He sounds like a total douche

Why? It was a joke/stupid comment. The boyfriend seems to be more ignorant than cruel and kicking him out over that is an overreaction.
UnluckyGenius 21
If you castrate him, then he will also need time to recover, and you can make that same joke back to him.

Always with the phallic mutilation in these comments. If someone were to suggest carving up a ******, everyone would flip shit. I demand gender equality.
UnluckyGenius 21
I am obviously not ready to take gender equality seriously since your serious eye opening statement made me giggle.

Preach, 16, preach!

I'm all for rapist being castrated so in my opinion a women rapist should have her ****** sewn up or something similar to being physically unable to rape again.

Kick that ass out of your life! Get better soon OP! You need a decent human being right now, or no one at all...
Carebeareatu 23
Haha that's reassuring. xD Get well soon, OP!
awkward611 26
seriously ill? it's 2 weeks not 2 years...
Nekogami 14
Exactly. How vs he compare 2 weeks to years? It's like an extended stay on a period. Get over it. Lol
CharresBarkrey 16
You're overlooking the fact that she's BEDRIDDEN for two weeks, not just ill. It takes a serious illness for someone to not be able to leave their bed for two weeks.
awkward611 26
you do have a point there...

Award for boyfriend of the month goes to OP's lovely boyfriend.

Whoops, looks like you've gotten that name mixed up!
