Today, I found my diary on my mother's nightstand. Bookmarked. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found my long lost diary and curiously read it. What's worse than finding out that your mother read your diary? Finding out that your mother wrote comments in it. FML
Today, I found myself lying to my diary. FML
Breaking news
Today, I was helping my mom look for some money she'd misplaced. At my wit's end, I flipped through her diary, in case she'd hidden it between the pages as she has before. Didn't find the money, but I did find out she might well be cheating on my dad. FML
Today, my mom read my diary. Then she frantically booked me an appointment with a psychiatrist. FML
Today, I found one of my mom's old diaries that dated back to my infant days. I couldn't help but read a little. I'm now in great concern over how many times my mom wrote that she wanted to dunk me in the toilet or throw me against a wall. FML
Spy vs. Spy
Today, I panicked when I realized two of my diaries were missing. I turned the house upside down, and found them in the guest room, tucked away in a dresser drawer. My only visitor in the last six months was my mom. I’m 37 years old. FML
Today, feeling very distant from my daughter recently, I decided to sneak a peek in her diary to see what was on her mind. The book was apparently one of those that play the sound of a woman screaming when opened improperly, and alerted everyone in the house to my actions. FML
Today, my dad found and read my diary. Most of the entries were about how my father didn't respect my privacy. Then he phoned my aunt and read her passages from it. FML
Today, I found my childhood diary stashed in a box in the attic. I flipped to the last page and noticed a little note written by my now deceased father. It read, "Well son, this diary proves that you're a whiny asshole - Dad." Thanks Dad, from beyond the grave. FML
Today, I lost a book. I'd used my credit card as a bookmark. FML

Take it back and write something about 'a big secret' and see how long it takes for your mum to ask you about it.

Well, at least you have interesting life :) Then, you could start a false diary...
AliceIsCurious 6
Well, at least be glad it's interesting enough to read! Perhaps, one day you can get it published?

Yeah, I would love it if the whole world read my personal secrets!

Well you can change all the names and vital information that would point to you.

Diaries are always the most interesting books, and especially intriguing as they provide insight into the writer and are off limits which makes it all the more mysterious.

Oh, it isn't just bookmarked. She probably highlighted the good parts. Want to have some privacy? Keep a journal online. Otherwise, your parents WILL snoop. It's their house.

Parents should still respect their kids. If they're worried something is wrong, that's different; but I think parents should only snoop if they have very good reason to.

Take it and write an elaborate entry about how you plan to murder her for insurance money. And put her invasion of privacy as your other motive.

Dear diary, today a read an FML about a mother who read her daughter's diary. The no-life bitch even had it bookmarked. If my mother ever does that, I'm going to kill her with her best kitchen knife.

I don't understand parents that would invade someone's privacy like that. All it will do is destroy any trust their child has in them and distant their relationship farther. OP, I hope this doesn't discourage you to continue to write. I had a journal I kept growing up and it's amazing to go back and read. Just need to hide it better under lock and key.

Or you could write a fake diary about how you love studying and going to church, and hide the real one better.

Or you could make up an entire story that's very epic and stuff, and at the end you confront your mother and tell her it's all lies and made up. You know like in that movie The Prestige!
